Little ordinary events.

Ah, had a pleasant weekend! Got hit on by a rather attractive (and seemingly sober) bass player on a train (always good for the self esteem) which was an unlikely source of amusement and quiet smiles. Bless. After whirlwind conversation with Jenny she persuaded me to be spontaneous and jump on a train to Birmingham the next day so she'd have company for alternative clubbing. So I did... well, OK, it was more a botched step and near trip, but I think you get the jist. I'm such a clumsy thing... on the way to catch a train back to York (which I missed, d'oh!), I managed to spill the contents of my purse down the stairs... needless to say, I swore quite loudly, and don't think the people behind me lugging suitcases, who I'd whizzed past, though I was either elegant or polite. Ha!

Clubbing didn't happen - which is probably just as well as I'm brassic, grrr. We ended up drinking a couple of bottles of wine, she cooked the most delicious meal (damn, that girl is SUCH a good cook!) which was enjoyed outside on lovely wooden bench in lovely flowery graden in warm summer tones, then we chatted, watched "Preaching To The Perverted" (hilarious - certainly up there with my modern pvc inspired low budget b movie favourite "Razor Blade Smile"), and rounded off the evening with hot non-alcoholic drinks and I got to rummage through her cd collection pulling out old favourites while she chatted on the phone. Yeay for All About Eve, Orgy, Depeche Mode and even Mindless Self Indulgence. Woke up with no hangover, how wonderful, considering the last two times I've been hideously hungover and surfacing has been an incredibly unpleasant upheaval. I'm sure I looked far more creaturefromthehauntedisle than canipleasepassasafaery. I like Birmingham. Its surprisingly green, and really quite pretty. Exciting too. Goodness, maybe I'm going to have to overturn my village by the sea convictions and live in a city for a while. Or maybe not. I don't know.

Got drunk, unexpectedly, last night on a fairly decent bottle of merlot and vermouth & lilt. I'd always wanted to try vermouth, and Jody was very generous... what lovely stuff, I think I've found a new cocktail for summer afternoons. Usually, I'd stick by ouzo & lemonade, but its expensive unless you buy it in Greece, so vermouth may well prove a delictable alternative. Anyways, this is all really quite trivial blather, but there you go. Its a lovely day, so I'm going to go home and work. O-la! I hope my loves are well.
