school has started, we're a week into the new semester already
it's hectic...18 credit hours (5 classes) and at least 12 hours of work/week....and trying to factor in some fun time....
i do like my classes. in psychology we learned about Phineas Gage. He was a rail road foreman, who had an iron rod go right through his head. it entered right below his left eye and came out the top of his head, going right through his pre-frontal cortex. the point of learning about this was to learn the purpose of the pre-frontal cortex. this part of the brain is all about personality and decision making. phineas became a totally different person after his brain was damaged. he went from being a respectable foreman, to a crude man, constantly making rash and wrong decisions.
the first week flew by very quickly. this weekend was good though. ryan came up friday, and we watched Good Morning, Vietnam with Robin Williams. i really liked that movie. we played a few rounds of backgammon, and i really am a backgammon champion...poor ryan.
today i went to meijer with shoshana...and boy oh boy...i spent more money than expected, but i try to find comfort in the fact that i did buy only the necessities, and that really is the truth.
my family came to take me out to dinner for my birthday, which is really on friday (jan 20). it was fun, the meal was good, and i got a gift certificate to the GAP and some cash. they also brought up my last paycheck from working at the theater over break...yay!
next week is my birthday....yay!
i stole this from julie's profile:
Life is all about asses...
you're either covering it,
laughing it off,
kicking it,
kissing it,
busting it,
trying to get a piece of it,
or behaving like one ...
