That's guitar-slinger/vocalist Elvis watching Brett Williams playing a flaming stand-up bass before a very respective audience this past Saturday night at the Fonda Theatre as their band Three Bad Jacks rocked the joint with their kick-ass psychobilly. Thanks to
strange_doll and Elvis, I have some good material for my next Public Eye newspaper column, which will also include guitar legend Dick Dale, and Bow Wow Wow.
Dick Dale's set not only included some of his great hits, but also featured his powerful renditions of other guitar classics like Link Wray's "Rumble". Behind him in this shot, is his 14 year-old son Jimmy, who played alongside him with a matching guitar and also played drums as well. No question, the Dale legacy will live on, much to the delight of rockers.
This picture of Bow Wow Wow front person Annabella Lwin was shot on my digital camera by my dear friend Jessica, who had originally expected to just visit for some expected snow as she studied for midterms at the University California Riverside.
It was a real treat for her to be rocked for the first time with special "Backstage Access", which allowed her to sit (in black leather jacket) in front of the stage (from where she shot the previous pic), and to be backstage and in the lounge/dressing rooms area. She proclaimed afterwards that she shouldn't wash the hand with which she shook hands with Dick Dale, Annabella and Elvis.
Had
strange_doll and Elvis not secured the backstage access for us, this is how we would have been limited to shooting pics. On stage, the rockin' Three Bad Jacks.
I'll share the upcoming column and other pics soon. These pics were shot with my digital camera, but I have not yet developed what I shot on my trusty ol' pro Canon A-1 35mm SLR camera.
Hope all of you had fun weekends as well. Keep on rockin'.
