I dont suggest you read behind the cut unless you want a bad day.

Today I had possibly the worst morning ever. I found my oldest ferret
Crowly laying out on the front porch. When I picked her up she had what seemed like a seizer. She bit my pinky harder than she has every before. I had to get into the shower to get ready for work. in the 10 minutes I took to get ready to leave and get a carrier together for her to take her to the vet I heard her having more seizers. By the time I got her to the vet the seizures had pretty much stopped, but she really wasn't moving too much. Just laying there occasionally paddling her front feet. They Vet thinks it was probably brought on by insulin issues. Apparently that is the thing to watch out for with ferrets. He said that they could do some blood work, and possibly find a problem and possibly operate, all the time trying to manage her seizers and possible insulin problem, with no guaranties as to what we would find at the end of this possible two months. He said it was more than likely we would end up in the same place we were at today. That was not an option to me, to spend more time with her in this state. She had no pain response in her hind legs. I only had one real option for her. It took quite some time for her to go under, about 10 minutes. They had to give her the shot in the stomach because the seizure constricts the blood vessels. So the anesthetic took longer to be absorbed into her system. I took the day off work and buried her up in the woods in one of the snugy sacks my mom made for the ferrets. Crowly was really my first pet that was completely mine. As soon as I think I am ok, something hits me and I lose it. At least the waves are getting farther apart. Thanks for listening.
