The Force of Nature concert

The Force of Nature concert was nearly eight hours long, but worth every minute.

It could definitely have been shorter, since the wait between artists was abominably lengthy, and Innuendo and the Canto-techno-pop Hong Kong bimbo were a complete waste of time. Don't forget the lengthy, redundant and repetitive speeches by various celebrities-wannabe-but-weren't-at-all-actually, and several million incomprehensible videos on the tsunami disaster. Paula Abdul was the only non-performing celebrity appearance I enjoyed, because she kept it short.

Since it was eight hours long, and so very emotionally enjoyable, I am far too tired to give a comprehensive and comprehendible review of the concert. So here are the highlights:

I injured my throat quite badly shrieking from block U14, trying to make sure the performers on stage heard my appreciation for them. I shrieked and shrieked and got so frustrated that I couldn't shriek louder that I shrieked more often.

I want Sheila Majid's orange dress.

For the first time ever, I understood why some girls actually faint at a concert. Boys II Men! My heart still goes pitter-pat and I get the urge to shriek some more, remembering their performance.

Words cannot describe how good Wyclef Jean is as a performer. I could get on my knees and cry in gratitude, I could. I will always remember him demanding that everyone stand because it was the least we could do when he took 26 hours to fly to Malaysia to perform for us.

It was the first time ever, that I heard Malaysians scream for an encore. History in the making, that for the Force of Nature concert, the Fugees performed once more. That just left me in awe. AWE. I cannot believe I got to see Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill sing the Fugees songs live.

Jackie Chan is a good singer!

It was very amusing to see that one of the Backstreet Boys seems to have started the sure process of... balding. Mwahaha! I can only wish that some of our local groups would have the same dedication to performing that they do. However we scoff at them, they manage some seriously complicated dance moves synchronously, while singing in key! Innuendo did not manage to even sing in key, and definitely did not bother to dance while they sang.

I actually like their new single coming out in June, I believe. It's called Incomplete.

I was so sorry for the Black Eyed Peas because they performed last. By the time they came on stage, everyone was so tired, we couldn't get up the proper appreciation for their definitely excellent performance. They were so good. Frankie sang clearly and smoothly while cartwheeling! Unbelievable. And the freestyling was just awesome.

And to think I nearly missed attending this concert because I was budgeting my money for the March sales. Who needs a new handbag with such amazing experiences in my memory?

I watched the nearest thing to a live Fugees performance that you can get today! There are no words to describe how sublime the Force of Nature concert was.
