A Lady Beetle named Ingrid

Do not underestimate the power of a gesture - a seemingly simple notion that assists us in emphasizing our point. But it's not just that - it's the sum (and more) of what we wish we had words for but don't. Brecht new it's importance, and I dare say any living soul worth their salt knows it too.

On Friday I was given a Lady Beetle who I named Ingrid. Ingrid was only with me for 5minutes before she decided to go exploring. But from the moment of connection of someone's hand being placed on mine to Ingrid's goodbye, the gesture meant more than most things said to me in any one day.

It was the gift of a person who knew I was sad, had a suspicion as to why and knew that there was nothing to be done, other than to remind me that beauty exists even in the very instant the whores of the world are pimping you carelessly.

So here is a lady beetle for you all...may you take it into your hand and embrace the beauty of life.
