I finally finished all the exterior Christmas lights and the house looks fantastic!! Thanks to my brother for doing the roof lights. I would be happier if I hadn't had to go to 5 different stores to get what I wanted. Isn't there an online source anywhere?

Dec 6
I signed up for a 4 event National Geographic series at Roy Thomson Hall. I missed the first one due to illness but I made it for tonight's really wonderful event. The speaker was NatGeo photographer Brian Skerry. Stunning photos and a very entertaining speaker. I got his beautiful book called "Ocean Soul".

Dec 13
I got my membership and booked a room for Confusion today. Who else is going?

Mom and I are shopping at Pen Centre. Wow the place looks great! I can't remember the last time I was here.

Dec 14
I just made 2 dozen pumpkin spice muffins and 5 dozen cranberry shortbread cookies. Doing a cookie exchange on Thursday night. Yummy!!!

Dec 15
I was so looking forward to my stitchy friends evening where we were going to do a cookie exchange. I slaved away on Tuesday night to make muffins and cookies for it. And then today I felt just terrible. It felt like food poisoning with terrible cramps and I think it was from something I ate last night for dinner.

I went to work but was very uncomfortable and decided I just couldn't cope with driving so far in traffic. So if I go to work tomorrow, I'll gift my colleagues with all the baked goods since it's just too much to keep just for myself.

Sigh.

Dec 20
In 2012, I will be at the usual place in France from May 22 to June 12. Would anyone like to come and visit?

Dec 22
Well the Black Forest Chocolate Cheesecake is in the oven. Now I need to start wrapping.

Dec 24
Merry Christmas to all my friends and family!!!

We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner in Niagara Falls with Steve, Stacy, Zachary & Rylee. The menu included pork tenderloin covered in apple smoked bacon, herb garlic chicken breasts, buttered whole wheat rotini, corn and grilled asparagus with carmelized onions. Dessert was Black Forest Chocolate Cheesecake with whipped cream.

We had lots of fun with presents and watched Rudolph on TV.

Now to digest it all and look forward to tomorrow's bigger Christmas dinner with extended family. Yikes!

Today was an excellent Christmas day. No snow, no rain, no blizzard. A green Christmas is just perfect thank you very much.

I made some more pumpkin spice muffins to take to our family dinner, did a little sewing, tidied up a bit and headed out to my brothers place. We all drove together to my aunt & uncle's place for our annual family Christmas. There were 15 for dinner. There was turkey with st...uffing and gravy, two kinds of perogies, cabbage rolls, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, sauerkraut and some other veggies. I'm sure I've forgotten something.

After a break for digestion and more Xmas gifts, there were multiple yummy cookies, cakes, chocolate, etc. I really needed those two cups of coffee to prevent a food coma.

And when we finally got home, there was a new Dr Who Christmas special on the PVR. What a great day!

I just realized that mom and I both forgot that October 2011 marked our 50th anniversary of our arrival in Canada. Damn. Big party opportunity missed. Damn.

Our dear friend Rusty Hevelin passed away earlier tonight. He was such a lovely man and gave the greatest hugs. What a sad way to end the year.

This was a fun New Year's Eve. Mom and I babysat Zac and Rylee while Steve & Stacy went out to dinner. We enjoyed watching the new awesome TV and it's always fun playing with Rylee. We got home in time to watch the party on Niagara Falls at midnight and see the fireworks.

Happy New Year!
