Estimated snowfall this week...

greater than FIFTY centimeters.

No thanks, mother nature. Shoveling and post-surgery are unmixy. Why couldn't it be a saltable amount, eh? I am currently thinking of things to bake that will tempt my fiance's brothers to come over and dig out the driveway, and sidewalk, and my side door, and a shelf on the curb snow bank so I can put the garbage pails out somewhere tonight without climbing mount Everest. Given the knee-high amount that has already fallen (and that it's HEAVY because it's mixed with freezing rain, oh joy), I will have to make something very sugary to give them energy. If I dose some cake with rum maybe they'll be too 'happy' to mind all that shoveling. The trick is to not make them so 'happy' they fall over before the shoveling is done (or bury the dog in the snow by accident when flinging shovelfuls of it on him) but to keep them 'happy' enough to fog their memories of how they got those muscle aches the next day (that reminds me, I should send them home with a dose of advil, too).

So, what do you think I should give the brothers to get them to shovel the roof?

PS: Feeling better today. Much less pain and I think the purge has finally worked it way through my body, so I can eat normally again. I had some delicious rice-pudding like hot cereal with a dab of whipped heavy cream and cut-up apricot. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes.
