Chapter [ 1/2 ]
They had been a couple two months ago, both declaring their love for one another, with tears as evidence of the happiness they felt at the moment, satisfying their hunger of holding each other closely, the way they had always wanted.
But their relationship seemed so different nowadays, well Jin seemed to be distancing himself from Kame, and he didn’t know how it happened. Jin had been coming home late these past few days and he would always wait for his lover to come home on the couch. Even if it’s late, Kame still wants to be the first person to welcome Jin home.
Sometimes he would doze off, when his eyes could no longer be forced to be open and he will end up sleeping on the couch until the sunrise. Jin would be home by then, sleeping comfortably in their bed, not even bothering once to wake him up when he reached home, leaving him alone in the living room.
This situation happened for subsequent nights, Jin would still come home late and Kame, being the loving partner would stay up to wait for him. To such extent that he did not get enough sleep, making him feel restless in the mornings, and forcing him to try to stay awake since he can’t afford to make mistakes on their group dance practice. He didn’t want the other members to slow down their pace because of a tired Kazuya, he didn’t want to trouble them.
Kame couldn’t help but feel a certain doubt about Jin’s honesty, it seems that he is trying to hide something from him. Jin stopped touching him, there is not even a slightest touch, let alone a friendly hug.
Why Jin? Why are you hurting me this way? What did I do? Please tell me so I can understand and correct my mistakes if I had any. Don’t keep on doing this, you’re hurting me more. You’ve gone beyond the line.
Kame hoped that his doubt on Jin’s loyalty would be washed away within time, that he had just mistaken him, and that he is just being over paranoid. But he could not hold his sadness when he saw the only piece of evidence, that piece of white shirt Jin wore last night, had a smudge of red lipstick.
Their room was in a mess with shirts and pillows lying all over the place so he decided to clean it up, being the hygienic person he is, he prefers their home to be kept tidy. But he wished he hadn’t clean the room, that way he would not have noticed that shirt. Maybe he would have just closed one eye but it happened, he had picked it up, ready to throw it into the washing machine when he noticed that red spot.
At first Kame thought that Jin might have hurt himself that it was just blood on his shirt, but he had thought wrong. When he looked closer to inspect the shirt, he realized that it was not blood, it was something else, a lipstick smudge!
No, that’s not true! Why would there be lipstick on Jin’s shirt? He wouldn’t cheat on me! He loves me too much to do that! He had promised me to always stay loyal towards me. That’s not lipstick! I’m just seeing things! Yeah, I’m just seeing...
Kame looked at the shirt again, hoping that it was just his illusion. But the stain still remains there as intact as ever, all his doubts came rushing in, making him feel weak in the knees. He fell to the ground, holding the shirt to his chest, crying silently, not wanting to believe the evidence.
Jin, why? Why?!!!!

Since then, Kame stopped waiting for Jin late at night. He even stopped trying to talk to him, not like the latter will respond to him anyway. He was always the one to salvage their relationship, trying his best to make it work but it seemed Jin didn’t want to. He will make excuses when Kame tried to talk to him, saying that he is tired or that he didn’t want to be disturbed.
Kame was willing to put up with his lover’s strange behaviors even though it hurt deep inside. It didn’t matter how he felt, their relationship was at stake that is all that matters to him at that moment of time. He rather stay in his silence, not speaking out his true emotions to Jin, than to flare up at him, saying that he is being irresponsible for making him feel so lonely.
But since discovering that shirt, his heart had been broken, and Jin still remained defiant on keeping silent on that issue. He didn’t even bring it up. Kame was hoping that the smudge was only an accident, and that Jin would explain the real situation to him but he didn’t. He didn’t want to think of that stain again but the evidence was there, he couldn’t deny. Jin wasn’t making an effort to clear his doubts away, rather continuously keeping his silence, resulting in Kame doubting him even more.
He is cheating on me. How could you, Jin? You’ve broken this fragile heart into thousand of pieces. You’ve broken my heart.

A clicking sound could be heard, acknowledging that Jin’s home. Without wasting any time, Kame went out to the living room, this time he couldn’t keep his doubts any longer. His questions needed an answer, and he will get them.
“Jin, why are coming home late these days? What is it that you do outside, other than having our practicing?” Kame bombarded him with questions the moment the latter stepped into the living room.
“Leave me alone, will you? I’m dead tired. And I need my sleep.” He snapped in such a harsh tone, making his way to the bedroom but Kame stopped him, preventing him from making any further step.
“What the hell do you want? Can’t you see I’m going to the bedroom? I need my sleep, for god’s sake! Let go, will you?” He exclaimed annoyingly, wishing that Kame would just give in to his request and not fill in with thousands of irritating questions of which was just wasting his precious time to answer them.
“No, I won’t let go till you’ve answered all my doubts! Where did you go, coming home this late! What is it that is so secretive that you couldn’t tell me? I’ve kept my silence for so long already! So please, clarify all my doubts! I need answers! Where have you gone after our practice finished? Where did you go, Jin? Tell me!” Kame shouted at the top of his lungs, the frustration he kept finally came out bursting in a split second.
“I said let go of my hand or you will face the consequences.” Jin warned, eyeing the hand that’s preventing him from moving forward, giving Kame a dead glare.
“No, I won’t let go!” he refused to budge from his position until he got all his questions answered, it’s too important to just let it go.
“Well suits you, I did warned you though.” Jin said, pushing the younger man, therefore there was no obstacle hindering his way, he went straight to the bedroom, slamming the door shut, a loud bang could be heard, but a silent cry was out of his reach as the two sound clashed, happening at the same time.
Jin was too concerned in having his sleep immediately that he failed to notice the impact of pushing Kame, he was oblivious to what had happened outside, since he is lying on the bed, hugging the pillow tightly as he fell into a deep slumber.
“Oww!” Kame cried out silently as he fell to the floor, hitting his head on the cupboard nearby, an impact of Jin’s sudden push, a movement that had happened too fast to process everything that had just occurred.
Kame felt an intense pain on his right forehead, reaching to it, his eyes widened in shock when he noticed blood on his hand. He couldn’t believe what he saw and goes to touch his forehead again, only to get the same result. There was blood.
It was not that of a heavy flow of blood but still it hurts, the pain in his heart is more overwhelming than the pain on his forehead. It was nothing compared to the aching heart of his.
How could Jin be so thoughtless, pushing him like that, not even caring if he would have gotten injured of the impact, which he did. His head hurt, throbbing with pain, his right hand still holding to the forehead as he rushed to the kitchen to clean the cut, placing a cool cloth on it, whispering silently that it would no longer hurt.
How could you do this to me, Jin? Don’t you even care anymore?

He entered the dance studio, flashing out a genuine smile to the other members, waving at them to make known his presence. Jin strode in minutes later, making himself comfortable on the sofa, stretching his arms tiredly.
“Kame, what is that white thing on your head?” Maru asked out of curiosity as he touched the latter’s forehead, earning a cry from the younger boy, glaring at him in total annoyance.
“Pain!” Kame holds to the plaster on his forehead, shielding the wound from anyone else as he yelped in pain, his expression that of a pained look.
“Kame, are you alright? Sorry, I didn’t know that was a wound. How did it happen anyway?” Maru asked his friend, concerned on the injury on his forehead, feeling a bit guilty for touching it without consulting.
“I... I just hit my head accidentally, it’s nothing, doesn’t hurt anymore.” He stuttered, hoping that Maru would take in his words, even though he had left out the real reason why he had injured his head, that wasn’t necessary to tell, since the person who caused it was here, he didn’t want anyone to make a big fuss about a small matter, so he preferred to keep it silent.
“Are you sure? Look, you should have seen a doctor, you’ll never know if the cut is serious, it can bring infection as well. If you’re afraid of going alone, I can accompany you.” Maru advised, fearing slightly that the cut would cause infection, and hoping that the younger man in front of him would heed his advice.
“No, that’s okay. It’s nothing serious, really. I’ll get back to practicing.” He firmly emphasized, as he walked pass him, getting into position, ready to start practicing for the day.
Kame, I know you lied. Jin caused it, didn’t he? You tried to keep it from me, but you miserably failed, don’t you know. It seems that you two had a huge fight last night. I hope you’re feeling okay.
Jin heard the whole conversation since he was just sitting nearby and for a moment he felt guilty for hurting Kame. He knew he had caused the injury on his forehead, feeling touched that Kame was willing to cover up for his mistakes, keeping the most important part of his injury a secret.
I hope that wound doesn’t hurt too much. It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have pushed you too hard, and the impact must have been strong, causing you to fall hard to the floor. I’m sorry Kame, I didn’t mean to hurt you.
Jin was silently apologizing to his lover in his heart but suddenly his mind flashes to one scene, a scene which had hurt his heart badly, since then he had vowed to do the same thing too, hurting the other party and make him taste the pain he felt.
It’s his fault to start with yet he is trying to pretend that nothing had happened, acting as if he is the victim but in truth, He was the victim! Well two can play the game if that is what you want, Kame-chan.

Kame was walking along the streets at night, he just had the mood to go for a walk though it was already night time, the time that he was supposed to take some rest. But he couldn’t fall asleep though how hard he tried to, so he decided to take a walk instead, hoping that he would feel sleepy afterwards.
While walking, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar figure, curious, he decided to follow it. When he was near, he noticed that the figure wasn’t alone, he had his arms wrapped around a woman’s waist line. Kame took a deep breathe, realizing that the figure looked exactly that of Jin’s, too similar to distinguish the difference. He silently prayed, hoping that he was just mistaking the guy for his lover, that it couldn’t be Jin himself.
“Come on, give me a kiss, darling.” A voice, loud and clear, ran through his ears, freezing at the familiar voice, his eyes glued to the couple, cuddling, flirting with one another.
No, that can’t be. Jin would never cheat on me. He wouldn’t do that. It’s just someone who miraculously has the same voice as Jin, it’s not him.
But Kame’s world crushed the moment he had a clearer view of the couple, no doubt it was none other than Jin, they were too busy doing their stuff to notice him. His heart shattered into a million pieces, feeling too much pain looking at the scene. It really hurt to see Jin kissing another woman passionately and full with emotion.
How could you, Jin?
His vision was blurred, as a result of tears cluttering in his eyes, realizing that all his doubts he had were answered. As of tonight, their relationship had ended. He remained rooted at his position for a moment, before deciding to make a move, and that was when Jin turned to his direction. Their eyes met for a moment, his eyes looking to a very hurt Kame, and the tears falling freely from his eyes.
Thank you, Akanishi. I hope you’re happy for hurting my heart. You should as you finally succeeded in breaking this precious heart.
“Kame.” Mouthing the other’s name, too shock at the sudden counter, to respond to anything.
Jin was indeed shock at the appearance of Kame, he didn’t expect him to still be up this late. The younger man would usually be at home resting at this time, not wandering around the streets when it’s already late. Kame was the home type, he preferred to stay at home when he is not working. But it’s different for him, he liked to go all out and enjoy the outside world while he have the time, staying home is meaningless.
He was confused when Kame gave him that expression, why would he be hurt when he too did the same thing? If he can flirt with other girls, so can him!! Who does he think he is giving him that kind of look?
But the look Kame showed were too genuine to classify it as only acting, he could feel it too, that Kame is hurting. He had wanted to go to him, to apologize, comforting the younger man in his embrace but his ego got the better of him.
He hurt me too. Kame, you’re such a great actor. Pretending to be hurt, using those fake tears to bring me down. You’re not going to win.
At this moment, Kame could no longer hide his emotions, it hurts too much having someone else holding his lover the way he always does. Without hesitation, he ran, his tears falling heavier as the speed increases.
Kame finally came to a stop, squatting down on the floor, hugging himself as the heavy sobs become the only light to the silent and dark park.
“Why? Why?” he whispered softly, his eyes scanning the surrounding carefully, realizing that he had come as far to be at the park.
“It’s not my fault. You started it first.”
That voice. He looked up to see the one who broke his heart standing in front of him, smirking proudly, feeling satisfied of having his mission accomplished. Kame got what he deserved.
“What?! What do you mean by that? Why!” Kame lunged forward to the older man, his hands gripping tight to the latter’s shirt, his eyes desperately searching for answers, he was too heart broken to hide his emotions.
“Look, the point is you cheated on me first! Acting that nothing had happened at all, you sure are a good actor! You hurt me, and it’s not fair for me to shoulder all the pain inside when you’re feeling good outside!” Jin screamed in such a high pitch, hurting his ears as well when his heart is deeply bleeding in the inside.
“What are you talking about, Jin? I’d never do that!” Kame whispered, shocked that this was the main reason of Jin’s sudden cold attitude towards him, accusing him without even consulting him on that matter.
“Don’t lie. I had seen it with my own eyes. You’re such a hypocrite, Kamenashi.” Jin said in such a hatred tone, hurting the younger man even more.
“If you want to think that way, then so be it, I can’t stop you. But to think that you have such low trust in me, it’s such a big disappointment. Congratulations, Akanishi Jin, you’ve finally succeeded in hurting me, which is what you want right? The downfall of Kamenashi Kazuya, is that enough for you?”
Jin suddenly could find no words to say, he was speechless at hearing Kame speak that way. He thought that the younger one would only spite out his words since that it was true that scene happened. He really did saw Kame hugging a young girl in the middle of the night, it was no doubt him. Or was it just a mistake? That he had misinterpreted the scene wrongly. He didn’t know what to think anymore, the fact is he had hurt his Kazuya deeply and nothing could possibly mend their torn relationship.
“Kazuya, wait! Kazuya!” he ran after Kame when the latter suddenly rushed out of the park, silently praying that he could catch up with the younger one.
~`~
He kept on running, the tears as his only companion on the silent night, he didn’t care which direction he was going, because all that matters now is that he had to get away, hoping that he could be further away from Jin. It hurts too much, knowing that his lover, former lover, had so little trust on him. It hurts a whole deal.
Kame was too preoccupied with his thoughts while running that he didn’t notice that he was on the roads, the light was red, it was dark, and a loud screeching sound could be heard from a distance, acknowledging the presence of a motorcycle.
He was shocked, his eyes hurt from the sudden bright light shone on his face, and he didn’t had any time to react, rooted to his position waiting for the bad to happen.
Goodbye, Jin.
The sound was gone, it was so silent then, Kame tried to register the piece of information in his head, figuring that he should feel some hurt by now but he didn’t, he can’t feel a thing. Nothing hurts, he felt normal, his body not suffering from any pain. And most importantly, he didn’t feel that he was lying on a hard cold road but a warm, soft object instead.
That couldn’t be. It’s impossible that I could survive that hit.
Kame opened his eyes, and was shocked to see the figure he was lying on top of, his eyes was tightly closed, his face was turning white any sooner, and there was a spot of blood beneath him.
Kame screamed, too shock to take in the scene in front of him, tears started to form, wetting his cheeks as the truth finally sink in his mind. Jin had pushed him out of harm’s way, him landing on his lover’s body instead of the cruel, hard ground. He escaped from danger while Jin was lying unconscious, as a result of the impact of the hit, looking so peaceful with his eyes tightly closed.
“No, no, Jin!!! Don’t leave me!! Please don’t leave!! Please!! Please!! Jin!!” Kame whispered hysterically through his never ending sobs, hoping that Jin would open his eyes, looking at him with love.
“If you leave, I’m not going to live either.” he croaked out, his eyes suddenly felt so heavy, he remembered snuggling closer to his beloved before darkness overcome him.
Sayonara.
