A few months had passed by. Jin had fully returned to the entertainment business, his comeback tour had come to an end with the last venue being at Tokyo Dome, which of course, was attended by Kazuya and friends. Kazuya on the other hand, had started school in Waseda University, and had become a renowned young model.
Being a model totally did not crossed Kazuya’s mind, he did not planned to become famous. He is majoring in Psychology, a course that did not need him to attend classes as lessons and exams would be conducted online therefore he had tried modelling as a means of getting extra income. Perhaps it was fated for Kazuya to be in that line of career as he was immediately chosen for the cover boy of a local popular magazine.
In a short span of time, Kazuya became the most wanted young model in Japan, as voted by readers.
-
“He’s catching up to you, Jin.” Tomohisa placed the magazine down and looked up at his best friend. There was a cheeky grin on his face. It was annoying to the extent that Jin wanted to slap that expression away.
“What?”
Tomohisa handed Jin the magazine and pointed towards a column.
Most wanted Lover
1. Akanishi Jin
2. Kamenashi Kazuya
There was a picture printed for the Top 5 winners, underneath their names. Jin’s mouth gape open, not because he felt that Kazuya’s a potential threat but he thought that Kazuya looked incredibly amazing in that picture.
“When did Kazu become this hot?” Jin murmured.
Frowning at the title of the contest, he searched for a pen and then scribbled something on the magazine before handing it back to his manager in satisfaction. Tomohisa looked at Jin’s retreating back in confusion as his gaze falls back to the magazine.
Most wanted in-love Lovers
1. Akanishi Jin & Kamenashi Kazuya <3
Jin even drew an arrow to and forth Kazuya’s and his picture, putting a heart in between it, as if emphasising the love between them.
“What an idiot.” Tomohisa shook his head in amusement.
-
Kazuya was doing his homework on Jin’s bed, laptop on his laps while he waited for Jin to finish his bath. He was in deep concentration that he did not Jin’s presence next to him until the older one nudged him on the shoulder. He turned to face Jin who was only clad in a bathrobe.
“Jin? You’re done?”
He nodded, leaning his head on Kazuya’s shoulder. “Let’s go to bed now.”
“But Jin … there’s still a bit more that I have to complete.”
Jin pouted, “When is the dateline, Kazu?”
“Monday.”
“There is still two more days left. It’s late. Continue tomorrow?”
Kazuya took the wrong move to look at Jin because simply seeing the expression on the other’s face made him give in instantly. He nodded his head, and switched off his laptop. He walked over to the dressing area and placed the item on the table. The minute he lied on the bed, Jin attacked him with kisses.
“Jin ….” Kazuya muttered weakly. “I thought you said we should go to sleep?”
“Hmm, maybe I’ve changed my mind?” Jin kissed Kazuya on the neck then travelled to other places. “I want more. I want you.”
“Jin, I have photoshoots to attend tomorrow afternoon!”
“Who cares?”
“JIN!”
Jin started teasing Kazuya causing the younger one to let out a moan, unable to resist to Jin’s heaven touches. He touched Kazuya’s sensitive part, and whispered, “Do you really want me to stop, Kazu? I won’t force if you don’t want to.” He pretended to lift his hand off his lover causing the latter to protest.
“Jin! Don’t stop! Con-continue with what you’re doing! J-just don’t leave any visible marks on me or I-I’ll kill you tomorrow morning!!!” Kazuya threatened his lover despite the condition he is in.
Jin chuckled. “You’re so cute, threatening me like that.”
“Jin, I’m serious. I don’t want to get into trouble.” Kazuya pouted.
Jin brushed Kazuya’s hair gently, flashing him a knowing smile. “I know. I was just joking.”
“Jin …” Kazuya gazed up at Jin full of love. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Jin crushes his lips onto Kazuya’s almost immediately.
-
Kazuya had just entered his bedroom when his cell phone rang. Plopping down on the bed, he took out his cell phone from his bag and answered the call.
“Hello?”
“Is that Kamenashi Kazuya-san?” The other line asked.
Kazuya looked at the screen, frowning when he noticed that it was from an unknown number.
“Yes, this is him. May I know who is speaking?”
“Thank god, I got the right person! I was scared that I got the wrong number, you know! I thought that it couldn’t be you, Kamenashi Kazuya, as in the young model … I mean, you are that Kamenashi Kazuya, right?” The person went on and on about that to the extent that he had forgotten to introduce himself.
“Ano, you are?”
“Ah, sorry for my rudeness!” The person apologised. “I’m Taguchi Junnosuke, the director of J Records. Your music composition and voice gained our interest thus we’re offering you to be our artist, to record that song as a single. Of course, there would be more opportunities in the future.”
Kazuya blinked, not understanding a word the man was saying.
“I’m sorry. May I ask what are you talking about? What do you mean by my music composition?”
“You sent us your demo tape a few weeks ago.”
“Ah!” Kazuya pretended that he remembered. “There have just been too many things on my mind lately that I’ve forgotten about that. I’m sorry. Can you give me your contact number? I need to discuss with my manager before I make any decision.” He quickly grabbed any available paper and pen, jotting down the number and the name.
“Yes, thank you.”
Kazuya hung up the phone.
“I don’t remember sending any demo tape to J Records …” Kazuya’s eyes widened, “J Records?!!”
That’s the same recording company Jin belongs to!
-
“A record company called me that my demo tape was selected amongst all applications, and that I was offered to be their artist.” Kazuya repeated his story to his best friends. “How could I have been selected when I don’t even remember sending a demo tape?”
“That’s really weird.” Nakamaru furrowed his eyebrows. “Koki, what do you think? Koki?”
Koki stood at the corner of the room, his expression that of guilt. Receiving the confused looks from his friends, he sighed in defeat. “Actually … it was me. I sent the demo tape.”
“YOU sent your demo tape under my NAME?” Kazuya stared at Koki in disbelief.
“N-no! It wasn’t like that!” Koki defended himself. “Wait a moment!” He headed towards Kazuya’s dressing table and searched for something. When he found the item, he looked at it briefly.
“I saw this on your table the other day. I was curious so I listened to it. It’s really beautiful. It would be a waste if you don’t showcase the talent that you have. I know that you won’t agree if I suggested it to you so I made a copy of this and sent it to J Records.” Koki handed Kazuya said item.
Kazuya’s frown disappeared when he realised what it was. It was a CD labelled, ‘For my Love’. His eyes widened in shock, grasping the situation.
“KOKI! I composed this song especially for Jin’s birthday! It’s still a few months early but whatever … the thing is it’s for Jin! I promised that I’d dedicate my first song for him! You should’ve asked for my permission first!”
“I’m sorry.”
“Why don’t you just give it a try, Kazuya?” Nakamaru suggested, crossing his arms. “If what Koki said is true then you shouldn’t give this rare chance up. You could record the single and dedicate it to Jin at the same time. Write a secret message or something inside the single’s booklet.”
Koki looked at his best friend who was apparently in his ‘manager’ mode in awe. Seeing Nakamaru being all serious is a first thing for him. It was certainly amazing.
“I don’t know … if that’d be a good decision. Signing as an artist mean that I’d be a singer too. I don’t know if I’m ready for that. ” Kazuya sighed.
“You want to discuss it with Jin first?” Nakamaru asked.
“Yeah.”
-
Kazuya entered J Records building alongside Nakamaru, his manager. Kazuya had discussed heart to heart with Jin, the latter giving him full support, saying that he’d be anticipating Kazuya’s first single which would also be his birthday present.
“You have a talent in music, Kazu. I have faith in your ability.”
Kazuya’s lips formed into a smile, not noticing that they had reached their designated level until Nakamaru shook him lightly on the arms, bringing him back into reality. Kazuya blinked, he was still in a daze when he walked out of the elevator.
“Are you here to see Taguchi Junnosuke?” A man suddenly appeared in front of them, flashing them a gentle smile.
Kazuya’s mouth gaped open when he realised who it was.
Ueda Tatsuya, the rock singer. He is so cool and pretty in person!
“Yes, we are. Could you tell us where his office is?” Nakamaru immediately answered, he acted calm despite knowing that the one he is talking to is one of Japan’s famous rock singers. J Records is after all well known for producing young talents.
“I’ll bring you there! Junno’s been waiting for you!” The singer said cheerfully, the smile on his face really bright as he skipped his way to Taguchi’s office. Nakamaru looked on in amusement but followed the other man, Kazuya by his side.
“Nakamaru, it’s Ueda Tatsuya!” Kazuya whispered as he grabbed Nakamaru’s arms excitedly.
“He’s so different compared to his public image. He’s so … lively.”
“We’ve reached!” Tatsuya stopped in front of a door, and turned to face the other two with a smile. Before any of them could say anything, he opened the door for them, “Come on in!”
“Thank you.”
“Junno, they’re here!” Tatsuya announced.
Taguchi Junnosuke stood up from his seat, and walked over to them, handing out his hand. “I’m Taguchi Junnosuke, the director of J Records. Just call me Taguchi.” His words ended with a smile brighter than that of Ueda Tatsuya’s. His smile was perfect, one could say.
“This is Kamenashi Kazuya.” Nakamaru pointed towards Kazuya. “And I’m Nakamaru Yuichi, Kazuya’s manager. Nice to meet you.”
Taguchi nodded, “It’s nice to meet you too.” He then turned to face Tatsuya. “Thanks, Uebo.”
“You owe me dinner tonight.” Tatsuya teased.
Taguchi simply smiled, not saying anything in regards to Tatsuya’s words. “I don’t know if you guys have already introduced yourselves to one another but whatever … Kamenashi-san, Nakamaru-san, this is Ueda Tatsuya.”
“I know.” Kazuya let out a weak reply, shaking Tatsuya’s hand.
“Call me Tatsuya! If you need help in anything, just look for me, okay?” Tatsuya winked. “I hope we can be good friends too!” He patted Kazuya lightly on the shoulder.
Kazuya smiled in appreciation, noting to self never to judge a celebrity by appearance because meeting Ueda Tatsuya today made him realise that he really is a nice person, and is totally opposite his image.

4th July
That would be the release date of Kazuya’s debut single. He had specially requested for that day, it was the only request he had in exchange to be an artist under J Records. Taguchi had no problems with that, assuring Kazuya to leave everything to him.
“Are you ready to see your new schedule, Kazuya?” Nakamaru asked his friend.
Kazuya nodded.
“It’d certainly be hard for you to juggle both modelling and singing since you have to do promotions for your debut single as well. I’ve cancelled some modelling jobs, those that are not of high priority. I don’t want you to work yourself to death.”
“Thanks, Nakamaru.” Kazuya took the schedule in his hand and began scanning it.
10 July Music Station
Guests: Akanishi Jin, ayaka, Namie Amuro, Mihimaru GT, Kamenashi Kazuya
“Oh my god! It’s Music Station and all of them are popular stars b-but most of all, Jin will be there too! I wonder how I will do being amongst these stars. They’re all really talented and all …”
“Then show the audience your talent as well. I’m sure you’d already have someone’s support.” Nakamaru crossed his arms and grinned.
“It’s so hot.” Kazuya waved at himself, feeling embarrassed.
-
“And last, we have a newly debuted singer who’s also a popular model, Kamenashi Kazuya. He’ll be featured in today’s Young Guns.”
It seemed like a dream come true, having his name called on Music Station. He was as nervous as hell nevertheless he forced his feet to move forward. His presence aroused the fans, causing lots of screaming. Not expecting the huge reaction, Kazuya smiled shyly and stood next to the female host, Takeuchi-san.
Coincidentally, Jin was standing next to Tamori-san which makes Kazuya’s heart beats even faster, he kept his eyes locked on the monitor in front of him, in fear of being tempted to look at his lover in the eye. Kazuya clasped his fingers, trying his best to remain calm.
“Akanishi, it has been a long time.” Tamori-san started his opening talk.
“Long time? I appeared last week too!” Jin waved his hand, defending himself. From the camera’s view, his body position looked like he was looking at Tamori-san but the real truth was that he stole a glance to his beloved Kazuya. The latter caught it and immediately looked down on the floor.
“Ah, is that so?” Tamori-san nodded his head. “How’s life?”
Jin chuckled at the sudden question. “It’s been good.”
“Then, yoroshiku onegaishimasu.”
“Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.”
Within seconds, it was Kazuya’s turn.
“It’s your first time in Music Station. How does it feel like?” Tamori-san asked him.
“Naturally, like all other first timers, I feel nervous. To be in Music Station is really a great accomplishment therefore I will put in my best effort tonight. I’ll not disappoint anyone.” Kazuya replied full of confidence, flashing a smile.
“You’re really good in conversation, ne.” Tamori-san seemed impressed. “During rehearsal also, you didn’t feel awkward talking. Honestly, it felt good talking to you, Kamenashi!”
“Eh, really?” Kazuya was surprised. “I’m glad.”
Singles Ranking Corner
No. 2: Akanishi Jin - Murasaki
“This single has been in the Top 3 spots since last week.”
Jin looked at the screen and smiled.
No. 1: Kamenashi Kazuya - I’ll be with you
Kazuya was shocked however when the No.1 spot went to him. He murmured a ‘thank you’ and bowed.
“Eh, Akanishi, congratulations for getting No.2.”
“Thank you.
“No.1 … Kamenashi, congratulations.”
“Thank you.” Kazuya said his expression still that of disbelief nevertheless he bowed in appreciation.
Young Guns corner
“Kamenashi Kazuya, 18 years old, from Tokyo started his career as a young model. He made his name after featuring as a cover boy on a local popular magazine, and is voted the most popular model under age-20. Having a passion in singing, he decided to venture into the music industry as well. His first single that was released on 4th July, is also his first ever music composition.”
“For Young Guns corner, we have Kamenashi Kazuya.” Tamori-san announced.
Kazuya smiled, holding his microphone. His heart beats fast, knowing Jin is watching.
“You’re only 18?”
“Yes, I’ll be 19 this coming November.”
“So young!”
“Not at all …” Kazuya shook his head.
“Kamenashi-san, did you plan in becoming a singer?” Takeuchi-san asked.
“Hmm, honestly … even though I love music and can play the guitar, that thought didn’t come across to me at all. I wanted to feel for myself the process of creating music so I composed my first ever song, complete with lyrics, for my private use, but … I didn’t expect my best friend to send a copy to a music company.” Kazuya had said, ‘for private use’, in literal meaning. What he meant was that he wrote his first music for his special someone, which only Jin, his two best friends, and him would know.
“Then you got called?” Tamori-san asked.
“Yeah.” Kazuya nodded. “Though at first, I didn’t understand why I was offered a contract to be a singer.” He chuckled.
“Then, it’s thanks to your friend that you got No.1.”
“You’re right. Thank you.” Kazuya looked at the camera when he said that.
“It’s time. Kamenashi-san, please stand-by.” Takeuchi-san informed.
“Yes, yoroshiku onegaishimasu.”
Kazuya got up and leave. Jin watched his lover’s retreating back until it was gone from his sight. He then fixed his gaze on the monitor in front of him, eagerly anticipating Kazuya’s first performance on Music Station.
“Here is Kamenashi Kazuya-san with his first debut single, I’ll be with you. Douzo!”
-
When Kazuya and Jin passed one another at the corridor of their dressing rooms which coincidentally was just beside one another’s, they didn’t pause and acknowledge each other but instead, they smiled, their hearts sharing the same happiness.
“Kazuya, let’s go …” Koki announced happily.
“You guys go ahead without me.”
“Eh, where are you going after this, Kazuya?” Nakamaru asked out of curiosity, his brows furrowed at the thought of Kazuya going out alone at night without any companion.
“Relax.” Kazuya leaned closer to Nakamaru and whispered something.
“Ah, I see.” Nakamaru heave a sigh of relief. “Be careful.”
Koki crossed his arms and grinned, “Ooooooh, enjoy your night, Kazuya.”
Kazuya rolled his eyes, muttering his goodbye to his best friends as he made his way out of the dressing room. The minute he was in the elevator, he lowered his cap and wore his sunglasses. When he reached the car park, Kazuya entered one familiar black convertible and shut the door close.
Inside, Kazuya came face to face with his beloved Jin and smiled. Jin pulled Kazuya into his embrace instantly.
“I’m proud of you, Kazu. You really did great. Your performance was fabulous.”
“Thank you, Jin.”
“Kazu, I really love my birthday present. Having you by my side, staying with me, is the best present I ever received in my life.” Jin expressed honestly. “I’ll be with you too, always.”
Kazuya felt tears in his eyes as he nodded, wrapping his arms around Jin’s back.
I’ll be with you.

Author’s Note: The epilogue’s getting too long so I decided to cut it into half. I have not written Part 2 by the way. Part 2 of the Epilogue will be the last of this fic called The Price of Fame. One more thing, there will be somebody for Yamapi. Don’t worry. =)
