Kazuya took a deep breathe before pushing the door to the Kamenashi Household open, she was taken aback when she noticed all of her family members standing on the doorstep. They looked worried especially her mother, and that moment, Kazuya knew they had been told of the incident.
“Kazuya! Are you really alright, dear?” Mrs Kamenashi rushed towards her daughter, taking her hands in her hold as she looked at Kazuya worriedly.
“Okaasan …” Kazuya started to tear up, touched at her mother’s concern for her. Who had told her family about this? She had made her friends promised not to ever tell them, hadn’t she?
“Who … who had informed you about it?” Her tone trembled.
“Nakamaru-kun.” Yuya answered.
As expected, it had been Nakamaru, the one who was always responsible for such things. She should have known. Kazuya looked down on the floor, suddenly feeling guilty for hiding something important from her family. She just didn’t want them to get worried for her, the look on their faces were too unbearable for her to see.
“You had planned not to tell us, right?” Her father asked.
There was silence for a moment before Kazuya nodded and whispered out weakly, “I’m sorry.”
“Kazuya, we’re family. Sharing our happiness and sorrows together, isn’t that what we do as a family? We get worried for one another, because we care. We too want to share your burden with you after all you’re a Kamenashi too, Kazuya.” The eldest brother spoke, hoping that his message spread to her.
“You’re not alone, Kazuya. Even if anyone or the world turns against you, you still have us.” Koji, the second elder brother, added with a reassuring smile.
That hit a nerve in Kazuya as she literally broke down in front of her family members.
“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” She sobbed, her body shaking.
Yoijiro stood next to his sister, pulling her into a brotherly embrace. “You’re our precious baby sister.” Out of instinct, Koji and Yuya too gathered into the hug as they nodded in agreement to what their eldest brother had just said.
Without them realising, their parents were watching this moving scene in silence. Mr Kamenashi held his wife by the waist as they looked on, his wife wiped away her tears, finally feeling assured and relief. No matter how broken her only daughter would be she would be okay in the end.

“All of this had certainly strained your relationship with Jin, am I right?” Yoijiro asked once they all had settled in the living room. Kazuya hated to admit it but they have a right to know, they are her family. She was thankful that they didn’t blame Jin for that fateful incident.
“What would happen to you and Jin-kun, Kazu nee-chan?” Yuya voiced out.
“For the time being, we’ll go our separate ways and return to just be the friends we had been before. I told him that I needed some time to heal my broken heart and he understood. I guess we’ll pick up the pieces of our shattered relationship before it would be whole once again, hopefully.” Kazuya flashed a smile.
“You still love him very much, even at this point of time, right?” Koji asked.
“Yes.” Kazuya whispered, placing her hand on her heart. “It seems that this heart of mine refuses to beat for anyone else, just him, my one and only.” She closed her eyes.
Will time be the test of their love, and would that heart of hers still beats for that one person?

Despite being told that she was given a week to rest, Kazuya stubbornly came for their group meeting. She had refused the offer downright with a determined tone, thus the members were not surprised when she appeared.
“Good afternoon, Kazuya!” They greeted her.
“Afternoon!”
Out of habit, Kazuya scanned the room for Jin, frowning when she realised that he was not here. Was he avoiding her? She told him that she needed some time but he need not go to the extent of avoiding her, right? After all, besides being friends, they were band mates too which meant that they would have to face each other every day.
“Jin had an important thing to do, Kazuya.” Ueda explained, knowing well from the expression Kazuya wore. “He told us that the thing he would do was the first step to atoning his mistake.”
“What … would that be?”
“Jin’s meeting Mizushima Hiro for lunch ... to apologise.” Koki added.
Kazuya was led speechless when Koki said that, she truly didn’t know what to say at this moment. Jin was willing to push his pride away to make up for the awful things he had done. She could not help but feel proud for him.
“He came by here first before heading to the meeting place. He had this really determined look written all over his face. It was a first for Jin.” Junno said, smiling at that image.
“I see.” Kazuya replied back, her heart smiling inside.
“Jin told us about the status of you two …” Nakamaru started. “It’s good to know that you two are taking it slow, and not rushing into things otherwise it would lead to something more serious. I’m sure the both of you would strongly go through this hurdle together.”
“Thank you, Nakamaru.” She felt touched.
“Kazuya …” Ueda called. “You have your family, and us too, same goes for Jin. Don’t you forget that.”
Kazuya nodded and smiled, happy to have her friends’ support.
~`~
“I apologise for my behaviour the other day. I shouldn’t have acted that way. I’m really sorry.” Jin bowed even though he was in a sitting position. The both of them were seated at the same corner of the same Café. The meeting place had been Jin’s idea, he felt safe being in his favourite Café.
“It’s alright. I didn’t take it to heart.” Hiro answered, his tone softened. “I actually heard what happened from Toma-kun. If you don’t mind me asking, how are things with Kazu … ah, I’m sorry. I mean, Kamenashi-san?”
“It’s okay if you call her Kazuya. I won’t be jealous anymore.” Jin said honestly, “I too would like it if my friends just call me by my given name. Surnames are too formal.” He tried his best to make the other feel comfortable because by the look of it, Hiro seemed wary of him which was totally not his fault. If it was anyone’s fault, it was Jin’s.
“Are you sure?” Seeing Jin’s friendly smile, Hiro felt relieved.
“About Kazuya and me, we’re starting over as friends. Kazuya herself had requested this. I couldn’t object to it after all the person who had hurt her most; the person who left her heart broken was none other than me. She had been the victim all along while I, on the other hand, was completely oblivious to the fact that I was hurting the woman I truly love.”
Knowing that Jin hadn’t finish with what he wanted to say, Hiro simply listened.
“It will be hard but I will slowly make my way back to her heart. Just apologising isn’t enough. I have to actually do something rather than doing nothing at all. Whether my efforts would work out in the end, I’m totally clueless but hopeful for a positive outcome.”
This time, it was Hiro’s turn to smile. He may not really know the man in front of him but the determination vibe Jin showed him touched him in some way. Every human make mistakes, that was true, most importantly he was glad that Jin realised and decided to make up to his mistakes.
“Akanishi-kun, remember your past mistakes as a lesson learnt so that you would not do them again in the future. I wish you all the best in gaining back Kazuya’s trust because I’m certain that you’ve already owned her heart.” He teased causing Jin to chuckle.
“Thank you.” Jin felt appreciative of the support.
“So friends?” Hiro handed out his hand towards the other, his lips curving into a bright smile.
“Friends.” Jin nodded, and accepted the handshake.
The issue between the both had finally resolved. Jin felt thankful. He was not doing this for the sake of getting back Kazuya but rather it came from the bottom of his heart, feeling the need to do the right thing. Jin felt that a small weight of his burden had been lifted off at this instant.
There’s still one person I need to apologise to …
~`~
Jin waited with bated breathe outside of Yamapi’s apartment the moment he had pressed the door bell. He sighed and was ready to go after a minute of no one responding when the door clicked open, stopping in his steps, Jin stood in front of the door again.
“I’m sorry, I was cooking my lunch …” Yamapi paused when he sees his best friend on his doorsteps, “Jin ...”
“Can I talk to you? It won’t take that long.” Jin bit his lips, suddenly realising how awkward the atmosphere had become. “I’m sorry for interrupting your time so it’s also okay if we just talk here …”
“What are you talking about? Come in.” Yamapi unlocked the door, nudging the other by the shoulder. Thinking that Jin would lead himself to the living room, he was shocked when he turned to see Jin standing near him, nearly bumping into him. Sighing, Yamapi put an arm around Jin’s shoulder and guided him to the living room.
“I’m really … sorry!” Jin bowed, that action alone surprised Yamapi. “After what I did, it’s okay if we can’t be the best friends we used to. I’d understand but my heart won’t feel assured until I apologise to you. I was stupid, I was blind … I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you that day. I’ve hurt Kazuya so much, and even my best friend …”
“Jin, stop bowing.” Yamapi helped him up, both of his hands on Jin’s shoulder as he looked into the eyes of the older one that was glistening with unshed tears. “As long as you realised your mistake, that’s enough for me. I know my best friend had returned that one moment in the hospital. You hadn’t accused Kazuya of having someone else’s child because you believe … in her, the pure heart that had vanished succumbed back to the surface. Am I right?”
Not able to control his emotions, Jin said nothing but to break down in front of Yamapi, nodding his head at the same time. “Sorry, I’m really sorry …” He sobbed.
“Bakanishi!” Yamapi hit Jin on the head lightly. “Stop apologising! You’re ruining my mood to eat my lunch.” He was obviously teasing, saying words like that.
“Sorry.”
“See, you’re doing it again. Alright, as a form of punishment you’ll have to eat lunch with me.” Yamapi declared, entering the kitchen to which Jin followed like an obedient child.
“But I’ve already eaten.”
Jin shut up and pouted when Yamapi glared hard at him as answer to his response.

During a magazine photo shoot two days later, Kazuya realised that Jin tried to avoid contact with her instead he pretended to be in deep conversation with the rest of the members. She had mentioned that she wanted them to return to the friends they once were and not totally cutting off their communication line!
So during a break, Kazuya’s eyes set on Jin and when he wasn’t looking, she held his hand and murmured, “We need to talk.” With that, she dragged him to the nearest secluded area which happened to be the restroom.
Once inside, Kazuya let go of his hand, placing both of her hands onto her waist.
“Can you stop avoiding me? It’s starting to get on my nerves. You and I are friends now.” Kazuya emphasised them both. “Friends talk! They hangout together! So you better stuck up and stop avoiding me! Understand?”
Jin’s mouth gaped open.
Kazuya heaved out a sigh at Jin’s blank look, putting her hands back to her side. “Fine, let’s do it this way. Even if we’re back to just friends, I don’t want us to feel awkward with each other’s presence. I don’t want that, and I know you don’t either. You promised to go through this with me, right Jin?”
“I’m sorry. I’ll do my part too.” Jin said, to which Kazuya smiled and nodded.
“Hmm, if we want to continue talking, I think we should go somewhere else, Kazuya.”
Kazuya looked up in confusion, her eyes widened in surprise when she realised where she was.
Men’s restroom!
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kazuya scolded him on the way out, feeling embarrassed. Even though she had been a male before but after the change, she had gotten so used to the new her to the extent that she would feel ashamed when she stepped inside Men’s restroom.
Jin chuckled, he held out his palms in defend when Kazuya tried to hit him.
Just like the old times, just like this, they were content.

Besides being busy with KAT-TUN, Kazuya would soon film a two hour Special drama that would air in autumn. It’s a heart wrenching love story between two individuals who deeply love one another but fate caused them to part ways, seeking solace from other people and starting another relationship without love. The wound in their hearts reopened every time the former couple faces each other at their workplace, their hearts still beating for one another but neither of them realise until it’s too late.
Kazuya was awed when she read the script, knowing she’d have to accept this role. The storyline may seem similar to her real life story but unlike the character, Kazuya knew who she love and would not lie to that precious feeling.
What had made her have second doubts about this drama was the lead actor, not that Kazuya had a bad rapport with the other. It was just that the actor happened to be none other than Mizushima Hiro.  Jin had already apologised to Hiro but still filming would be awkward, Kazuya initially thought.
Furthermore, wouldn’t Jin get jealous if he knows this? Of all the actors in Japan, it had to be Mizushima Hiro, the one that Kazuya had been rumoured with but not Akanishi Jin, the love of her life. Would Jin think that way?
In the end, Kazuya decided to accept the role anyway because she knew Jin wouldn’t do something drastic this time round. Though there was some wariness in her heart, she decided to take the risk in believing Jin. Besides, she had a right to make her own decisions.
Whether the special drama would change her perspectives of thinking, Kazuya knew for sure that one thing wouldn’t change … her love for Jin. Her heart would always hold a special place for him; it is just a matter of time till her heart heals completely.
But for now, Kazuya didn’t want to think about love, leaving it all to the course of nature.

“Uwah, special drama?” Nakamaru suddenly felt excited for Kazuya when she told the members about it. He was proud of her achievement honestly.
“That’s great, Kazuya!” Koki said.
Kazuya nodded, glancing silently at Jin as if anticipating his reaction. The other members followed her gaze, and thus everyone in the room was looking at the latter causing him to shift in his seat uncomfortably. Jin felt awkward with the intense looks they flashed, not knowing what the hell they want.
“What?” Jin blinked.
“He’s so dense sometimes.” Nakamaru muttered. He didn’t see the smirk on Ueda’s face when he said that, it was a fact anyway.
“Jin? You’re happy for me, right?” Kazuya asked, her eyes still gazing at the man sitting beside her.
“What are you saying, Kazuya? Of course I’m happy for you. You have a talent in acting, and I’m glad you’re doing the things that you love and enjoy. Show people what you have and let them be touched by your flawless acting. I’m sure you will not disappoint their expectations.” Jin expressed kindly.
“Yes, I will. Thank you.” Kazuya flashed out a smile at her friend, feeling relieved yet happy at the same time.
“Won’t you get jealous of Mizushima Hiro?” Koki teased Jin. “He’ll be all over Kazuya, and who knows he might want to steal her away from you too!”
“Koki!” Ueda warned. The other should very well know who he was talking about. That An An issue that had Mizushima Hiro and Kamenashi Kazuya started it all.
Jin smiled, “Don’t worry, I won’t get jealous. I learn from my mistake so rest assured I won’t make any trouble this time round. After all, it’s a drama and I understand that Kazuya would have to promote it with her cast members. It’s professionalism.”
“You’ve matured.” Koki whispered. The others nodded proudly.
Kazuya’s heart felt warmth the minute those words were being spoken, and at that instant, a piece of her shattered heart mended. Jin’s support meant everything to her, and now that she had it, Kazuya find it even more meaningful to film the special drama.
~`~
During the press conference of the Special drama, Kazuya was not surprised when she was asked to comment about the rumour between Mizushima Hiro and her, and whether it was true that she had broken up with Akanishi Jin. The announcer had wanted to object to that particular question as it had nothing to do with the drama when Kazuya rose up her hand, saying that she would only answer this one question about her private life.
“No matter how much the tabloids try to destroy my relationship with Jin, my feelings for him wouldn’t change, through time or distance, it would remain the same. Mizushima-kun and I are only friends while Jin and I share something special, a love so deep to the extent that I find it hard to breathe without him in my life. Akanishi Jin is every thing to me, he is my other half and the love of my life.Shouldn’t that fact enough answer your question?”
What had been a question, Kazuya fired back to the woman with so much determination, her tone firm. That reply had taken the reporter by surprise thus she silently nodded, and began looking down at her notebook. It had been a strong answer given by Kazuya as the whole press became quiet for one short moment until the announcer took control of the situation.
“I shall repeat again … Questions not relating to the drama are not allowed, and would not be entertained.”
Kazuya may not have realised this but she had just expressed her feelings for Jin on national television but more importantly, the spark in her eyes were so powerful that anyone else would be convinced by her explanation, especially Jin.
~`~
Jin was making a cup of coffee in the kitchen, the television switched on as he busied himself in the task. He was slowly getting used to living in this apartment alone again though sometimes it would get really lonely without Kazuya’s presence so to ease his loneliness, he would always watch the television during his free time.
He had settled down on the sofa, sipping his coffee when the press conference of Kazuya’s special drama was shown. Placing his cup on the table, Jin took the remote control in his hands and raised the volume, his attention to the big screen in front of him.
Jin felt calm through the first few minute of the clip, he however tensed when the issue of the rumour between Mizushima Hiro and Kazuya was being brought up, and of course he was being pulled in as well.
He closed his eyes as he listened to what Kazuya had to say about it, opening them half-way when he realised that Kazuya was actually opening her true feelings to the public.
Akanishi Jin is every thing to me, he is my other half and the love of my life. Shouldn’t that fact enough answer your question?”
“Yes, it’s more than enough to strengthen my belief in our love, Kazuya.” Jin smiled, feeling a glimpse of hope. “It is more than enough.”
Akanishi Jin is every thing to me, he is my other half and the love of my life.
~`~
Filming of the special drama would not begin until a week later so Kazuya still had some time to spend with her friends or rather KAT-TUN members as they have many photo shoots together as a group. The days spent with them were always enjoyable, as it had been many years before.
The media had not known of the real truth, and they did not need to know, some things are better left unspoken and hidden from the public. Due to this, the Akame pair was still being paired up in magazines. Obviously they both had broken up but they had no problem working together as they were comfortable being around each other as friends. There was a huge grin on Kazuya’s face as she leaped behind Jin, her arms on his shoulder causing Jin to suddenly shriek but didn’t push her away instead he placed his hands onto her legs, supporting her.
Kazuya flashed a ‘peace’ sign, the both of them smiled at the camera.
“They should just get back together already.” Junno murmured to the other members. They were all waiting for their turns, sitting near each other as they watched the couple fooling around on set, making friendly poses that requires some body contact.
More importantly, they looked really happy.
“They will. We’ll just have to wait for it.” Ueda smiled.
They would certainly wait for that day to come, definitely …

Author’s Note: Dedicated to yuki and all my readers! Told you all that this chapter isn’t going to be angsty, well just the first part and the rest was quite hopeful and touching but not angsty at all. Jin’s finally made up to the ones he did wrong to and he would make it up to Kazuya next chapter! Writing next chapter will be fun, that’s all I’m going to say. ^-^
