Solo & Ensemble 2005

Feb 02, 2005 20:04

So this was muh fourth year going to s&e. This was also the specialest time that I ever had there. Sure in the eight grade I got to spend a Saturday with muh bestest friend, Guy, but this year I will just never forget.

I showed up to muh duet when me an Justine said we would meet: 9:00. She didn't show up for another 20 minutes. As we were warming up, everybody kind of froze and just listened to us play for about a minute and a half and then Justine stopped and I was like, yes, that is how I do. This girl's mom in front of us said that it sounded really good, like, no,... seriously... it does sound really good, and I couldn't help but think," well, of course it sounds good... your kid plays the oboe for chrissake's, ... that, and I am just really freakin sweet rocking out muh Haydn on the clarinet.

So we head off for the performance room, and muh mom isn't back from getting her coffee. The only people besides me an Justine in the room are the judge, the person that announces you, and Justine's mom.
We play and the judge gives us some really good comments. But the one thing that I really don't get is why the hell do the judges always talk to you like you're going to play that particular peice again? I for one never look at my music again( intentionally) and I am not quite sure that anybody else does.

So we get outside and my mom is standing there with her coffee and then I start to pace. As I am pacing, I see muh brother and sis down the hall. They come and then I start pacing again. Then I see muh dad, and when he comes he gets in the way of muh pacing zone, so I have to re-route.

The lady comes out and hands us two red cards. WE GOT A TWO. I thought that we did alot better than a two, but whatever.

So we go and get our stuff and then listen to the woodwind quintet. (nice job, you'se guys and gurls!)Then I tell Jenny that I shall call her around noon.

I go to the front to with my dad so that he can buy me muh s&e shirt. Then we head towards the back o the building. As we approach the area in which he parked in, he notices that he has been blocked in. NOT COOL!!!!!! so we are stuck there for an hour and a half-ish, and I see Bruce and I run over to talk to him for maybe 15-20 minutes. We finally get out and it IS NOON!!! I call Jenny and tell her the situation and agree to call her when I am done with lunch.

Muh dad takes me to Taco Bell and then we are headed into Wayne. I think that he is taking me to Northside, but he doesn't turn until Jack's... I GOT MUH VARSITY JACKET!!!!!!!!!

Then we go home so I can change my shoes(back when we were stuck at Franklin, I climbed this really big mountain of snow and ice... twice... my shoes were wet.) I call Jeff and then I call Jenny. We go pick up Jeff and then we get dropped at Jenny's. We talk for half an hour, and then we get semi-serious. Practice went really well for only being a group for a day.
We get to Franklin and on our way to the doors, Justine yells for me: she came to hear us play.
We warm-up in the Warm-up room(go figure) and Justine really likes the music. When we go to the Performance room, Cramer is there and tells me and Jeff that we need to dress up more. boo-freakin-hoo. So Cramer asks Jeff when is he gunna shave? Jeff says he shaved around easter. I turn to Jenny and say: Dude. He shaved around easter... JESUS LIVES AGAIN!*we informed Jeff of what was said later on our way home*
We played okay(we'd done better previously)and the judge gave us a III (for all those that don't know, it's a 3. not an "eye-eye-eye")
Going home is the funnest part because after we drop off Jeff, me an Jenny have a really cool talk again. Whenever she drives me home we always have the coolest of talks in the world. I told her what was going on and she laughed with me and understood what I was saying... I can't say too much here, but I like somebody and she knows, and I wanna ask this person  hey what is up, but I don't know if I should...

I would like to say that that was the bestest day of muh life besides Friday for reasons that are too personal to share with anyone but Jenny and Manda.

S&E IS LIFE!!!!!
