I use my combs free-hand, largely because I started using them when I was doing living history, and because I do small batches while I watch TV. If you wanted to stand for hours in front of a counter combing you might want one that clamps down. I always end up with some shorter fibers that I card, after I've combed out the longer ones.
My combs have two rows of curved tines. They have fancier ones at the Guild, including a clamp, if you wanted to stop in tomorrow and check them out.
I love spinning worsted and preparing my own fleece. I've owned plenty of combs and if you are up to combing your whole Finn (I love it too) then use the best multi-pitch combs you can afford. They require attaching one to a work surface and using one with as a moving comb. The absolute most well-balanced combs are made by Andrew Forsythe at http://www.woolcombs.com/w/Welcome.html . Cheaper combs but very serviceable are available from Indigo Hound. Your combing will be much less comfortable for you but the product will be just as beautiful to spin.
Lots of people comb with one held stationary. Many good combs will come with a holder. I really love my Superminis by Alvin Ramer.
They normally have a long waiting list but often bring some finished products to shows. I got lucky when I bought mine and took home the last set they had brought at the end of a show. Not sure if they go to the US shows or not.
I prefer to comb with one comb stationary myself. I would advise at looking the at price for the whole thing. My Ramer combs were expensive, but not really that much more than one of the booths was asking for a set of the inferior Louet combs after factoring in buying the pad for them as well. You can find several good videos on YouTube for how to use the combs and if you are on Ravelry I highly suggest checking out the fibre prep group. There are lots of great threads, including a few about Finnsheep :-)
And posting without the links as well, since the first got marked as spam and I'm not sure if the OP can still see it anyhow!
