Researching Bruce

Ranger was settling into his work in the capacity as Head of Security for Lex. He tossed the the painfully thin file on Bruce Gordon down on the desk of his office with a sigh. After Lex's impromptu meeting with Bruce last week, Ranger began digging for details on Bruce's background. Only to come up painfully shy.

In one way, it frustrated him because he needed to know just who Lex was dealing with if Ranger was to protect him properly. But it also intrigued him because Bruce was keeping his background almost as well-hidden as his own. He had to admire that.

So Ranger sat staring at one painfully thin file on a guy named Bruce Gordon who appeared out of nowhere, debarking off of a freighter and showing up in Tropolis about six months ago. There was little else to find out about him other than the fact that he apparently flirted with half the town of Tropolis, and was family with the rest. Ranger had files started on most of Bruce's contacts, some files more full than others: Tara, Shane, Kate, Bobby, Faith, River, Simon, Tim, Lily, CJ, Anita, Emma, and Yazoo. Contacts that ranged from one of the sweetest women in town to one of the deadliest men.

It seemed like a lot of people to know for someone who was trying so obviously to keep his identity a secret. So either Bruce was becoming sloppy, or else he was very confident in his abilities to not slip up. Ranger voted on the latter.

Interesting guy. Ranger made a mental note to catch up with Bruce sometime. It might be fun to chat.
