Ianto watched every bit of the transmission as it came through, taking in Jack's dishevelled state and he had to make himself not react and go tearing out and jeopardise everything by rushing in and trying to rescue Jack himself.
When he saw Jack's body being flung back against the console, though, he knew there was no way he could send a return message. Instead he took a breath to steady himself, telling himself that if Jack had managed to do this, he would be okay, and went to go find Gwen and Kyle.
