Nice to see the City can find ways to throw more chaos at us than usual, though I am glad that certain people were able to show up for a time.
Before you ask, Ianto, yes I am cleaning guns on the dinning room table. To everyone else, I've put down drop clothes so there won't be any gun oil or plasma fluid leaked out on the table.

He spotted the lighthouse first, then, looking around, saw the beach house. He stopped, took a deep breath, and made his way to the house.

"Hello?"

"Up here!"
Okay, he could probably have been more descriptive about that but when you live somewhere you tend to think people just know their way around automatically.
Hopefully Jake could follow his voice?

"Morning, sir."
He doesn't quite look Jack in the eyes.

"Good morning, Jake and please, call me Jack. Took me two years to get Ianto out of the habit of calling me, 'sir'."
He noticed the not looking in the eyes, which bemused Jack a little bit but he put it down to first time meeting jitters.
"Now, what horrible lies has Mickey been telling you about me?" He asked in a light voice, meant to show that he was joking and didn't really believe Mickey would tell horrible lies.
Horrible truths however...

He smiled quickly, but it wasn't a real smile, just a reaction to Jack's question.
"He said you're a flirt and that you've got a lot of self esteem, and I have to agree with him, after last night."

"Yeah. I have to say your interview methods aren't like any one elses." He said this quite matter of factly, though he still wouldn't look up.
"You've got quite a collection here." Jake nodded toward the table.

"I'm sorry but what are you talking about?"
Reply
"We talked last night, right?"
And it might have been a little more than talking.

Well, there had been Ianto so, that last bit wasn't technically true but no need to open a can of worms.
"Right then!" Jack agreed. "So, we're meeting and interviewing now. Mickey recommends you highly, you know. I guess you and he worked together a lot?"
Reply
"Yeah, we do. Did." Jake grinned. "We make a pretty good team."

"That's the impression I got," Jack said, reaching for a cleaning stick and wrapping a bit of soft cloth around it so he could oil the chambers of the revolver barrel he held.
"Well, things are a lot more laid back here in the City than at 'home'. The deities seem to have a pretty good control mechanism over this bit of reality, within reason, so mostly we're investigating the monsters down in the Underground. It's purely a catch and release program, we grab a critter or two, being them here for study and then let them go once we're done."
