Nice to see the City can find ways to throw more chaos at us than usual, though I am glad that certain people were able to show up for a time.

Before you ask, Ianto, yes I am cleaning guns on the dinning room table. To everyone else, I've put down drop clothes so there won't be any gun oil or plasma fluid leaked out on the table.

Jack looked up from where he currently had one of the big rifles pulled apart, a long thin wire stuffed down the barrel, cleaning it.

"Hey there, Ianto. Can I get some coffee?"

Hands on the hips time!

Ianto's hands went straight to his hips.

"Do you have to do that there? And do you think this behaviour will earn you coffee?"

Will there be a pelvic thrust?

"Well, I figured this was the easiest way for Jake to find me whenever he gets here."

There was an angelic blink, followed by a beaming smile.

"Yes?"

Seeing as that tactic wasn't going to work, Ianto took the seat beside Jack.

"There's a perfectly good gun-cleaning area downstairs, and I could take Jake to wherever you are." Then he gave Jack another look, "besides, isn't this my job?"

Barrel in his hand, Jack pulled out the cleaning cloth and peered down the expanse with a small pen light, checking the strifing.

"There is and you do," Jack agreed. "But I've completed all my paperwork and where I would usually have headed out to the Underground to do some work, I need to be here to talk to Jake so..."

Jack shrugged. He was rarely ever idle as Ianto well knew.

Ianto knew the feeling, he hated being idle, too. And now that he was only head archivist of the library, rather than the head, and Styles had gone as well as the fact Artemis didn't often have work for him any more, Ianto was beginning to feel it.

"You don't take Gwen and I underground much, any more," he commented idly, chin in his hand.

Setting aside the barrel, Jack picked up the stock and began to study the firing pin for wear or displacement.

"Well, Gwen sort of goes on her own, habit I imagine she got into while we were gone," Jack pointed out. "And we've had our hands full up here this past month, with curses but you're right, we need to get back into a routine."

A routine which was going to involve some more people now, with the hires Gwen had made when she'd been here alone.

Picking up a gun, Ianto decided that he could give Jack a hand, and leave when it seemed that Jake was due.

"That'd be good, as well as if Jake is added to the team." Ianto couldn't help the grin that spread across his face. "I suspect he has a crush on you. He saw your picture on that curse day."

Handing over a couple of work rags and some gun oil, Jack chuckled and arched a playful eyebrow.

"Does he now? Well, understable really."

"Oh, of course you wouldn't let a comment like that go straight to your head," Ianto said dryly, accepting the rags and the oil.

He picked up one of the Glocks and started to strip it.

"Both," Jack returned with a cheeky grin, just to tweek Ianto's tail a little.

With half a grin, Ianto nudged Jack a little with his elbow.

"Don't go terrorising poor Jake, or using it to your advantage, now."

"I'll behave," Jack promised with a sigh.

"Take away all my fun."

Peering down the empty barrel, Ianto nodded a little.

"Don't want you scaring away potential recruits."

Jack snorted.

"I don't even have a clear handle on who all is recruited here anymore," he said with a wry twist of his lips. "I'll need to speak with Gwen again and get an update on who was simply helping her out on a day to day basis and who she actually brought on as an employee. Need to get you people earning your keep."
