It's pretty safe to say that I fucking hate school.
Otherwise, I suppose I can't really complain. I had an eventful time at CMJ last week. I met pretty much every single band I wanted to/wanted to see live, so that was amazing. I got some free swag as usual. Met some other really cool industry-esque people there too.
I'm not as sick as I was before. I've finished my antibiotics, but still have a cough and recently have been waking up with horrific headaches.
Just a couple more days before Obama is officially going to be the next president. At least I hope so. I can't fathom McCain-Palin winning, but then again I couldn't have imagined the 2004 prez results and look what happened there. Whatever. Please go vote responsibly. Do your own research. Read up on it. Watch YouTube interviews, etc.
Aside from (still) feeling screwed about the job market and my possibilities of securing a job by the time I graduate, I've got some music assignments which I'm rather excited for. For the school newspaper, I've got a handful of reviews coming up for the next couple of weeks for some pretty obscure bands/musicians. I will also be interviewing +/- {Plus/Minus} for the newspaper. BUT the BIGGEST news of all: for a much later (probably Thanksgiving or Christmas/New Year edition) newspaper, I will be interviewing the great CURSIVE. What does this entail? Tim Kasher of Saddle Creek, The Good Life, Omaha, NE fame. What else? Hearing their BRAND NEW ALBUM by mid-November (that isn't slated for proper release until I think...late February/March. It's going to be a pretty big piece. Thank you newspaper... I never thought we'd have a relationship like this.
Yeah, that's it. I'm lame on Halloween night. But I have to say that despite me not having any real big plans, I', not terribly bored or restless. I am content. That's all that matters I think.
