That day ended badly
24 season finale was tonight and it certainly was a downer. Spoilers ahead. This third day ended with President Palmer having to resign because of a hole he dug way too deep, like trying to cover up a murder his ex-wife let happen at the beginning of the day and then allowing his advisor who is also his brother to try to steal evidence from her around noon when some crazy lady shows up and kills the former Mrs. Palmer and then herself. Tony Almeida gets arrested for treason trying to save his wife's life from terrorists while putting the countries security in jeopardy. Jack Bauer tells his daughter Kim he has to split town and basically has a nervous breakdown at days end. That's after Jack cuts off his partner Chase's hand to get rid of a bomb attached to it, Chase is also dating Kim.
Season 2 was the best one then the first season. Overall the third was good, some parts of the day were great, like Jack kicking ass in Mexico and finally killing Nina, she killed his wife in the last minutes of season one. They should've addressed Jacks heroin addiction more, in the first few hours he's contemplating shooting up then it's basically forgotten for the rest of the day. The bad guy Steven Saunders motives were never truly dealt with, but were slightly glanced over. Other high points from this season is Jack's jailbreak with the mexican druglord and the game of gun roulette with some inmates. Having hundreds of people die from the released virus in the hotel made for some tense, scary hours and it was pretty graphic. The most emotional episode was when Jack was forced to kill his boss Ryan Chappelle or the bad guy would release a vial containing the virus, that was surprisingly a very upsetting episode considering his boss wasn't always on Jacks side. Also the Presidents ex wife was a real bitch and I'm glad she got killed.
Still a great show but seems they set up next season by killing off plenty of characters, having them arrested, and having the Presidents story finished. A new location and new supporting characters would be a great idea for the 4th season. I can go alot more into this show but thats enough for now, time for MXC on Spike for some needed laughs.
