So, I just started making my family tree on Ancestry.com and apparently, my great-great-great-great-granfather's first name was Ignatious. Is that not THE most awesome thing ever?
I thought so, haha.
I'm as far back as 1818 right now with certain lines.. specifically, my mom's dad's side. For some reason, they're the easiest to trace.
I did manage to find out that the name of the ship my grandmother (dad's mom) was on when she immigrated from Lithuania was the 'General C. H. Muir', and it docked in New York on December 27th, 1949.
This is completely amazing and, at the same time, very depressing. There are certain people I'd love to know way more about, but can't seem to find any record of. Luckily, my dad's parents sent us a full family history years ago, so I'll probably ask dad if I can borrow that to fill in the blanks. (Lord knows I'll never have the money to actually visit my grandparents.)
And, we're going to be spending the weekend in Upton, so I can ask mom all about her CRAZY CONFUSING lineage.
Wow.. babble babble. At least it's about something remotely important - well, to me, at least.
