my car has finally kicked it. it heaved its last sigh on washington avenue between 5th and 6th street in philidelphia, a shady little stretch in the remarkably cute chinatown. reina and i were rescued by my cousin micah and now i'm trekking it with a much smaller eco-footprint. hello carpools, goodbye $3.19 a gallon.
we bought it with at least 125,000 miles on it and it got me through two road trips around the midwest, dirty south, and northeast and also managed 3 roundtrips to new york city, and one to amherst, massachusetts. i can now confidently say i've seen a good percentage of my country, whereas before i had experienced around 5 states and driven through a handful more. so long friend, you were fairly good to me. despite when you nearly fell off the tow truck and almost killed us all.
there are a few things i hope to achieve by this summer. a new job, a lap-top, and enrollment in a college somewhere (anywhere, really). these would satisfy me although the most pressing is definitely better employment. i think it's high time i bucked up and worked a 9-5.
there's a boy (man) who comes into pastabilities for lunch quite often and i think he's trying to steal me from danila. his name is seth and he's a lovely, fluffy graduate of harvard (wut?) who works at a law firm down the street. he reminds me of jim from the office, but only personality-wise.
relations with luke have been repaired and while we may not be friends perse, there is definitely no more hostility. new year, things are falling into place.
or (if things are my auto mobile) apart.
