A disappointing result on Proposition. 8. I have no Olbermann-esque speech to give. What I don't understand is how there are obviously people that don't see this as gross discrimination. The reason this is discrimination, and an abhorrent discrimination at that, is this: when any portion of the adult population (and obviously my argument concerns only consenting adults) do not have the same rights as another portion of the population, especially in this case, an inherent right, that is discrimination. Quasi-alternatives are pointless and I would say, insulting, unless same-sex couples have the same choice as 'opposite-sex couples' when deciding between marriage or 'domestic partnership registration' or civil unions or whatever name the option is given.
I have no doubt we'll see an end to this in the near future. Absolutely no doubt. History makes me quite certain. But it does sicken and sadden me there's imbeciles like Bill O'Reilly comparing same-sex marriage to marriage between humans and goats, and fallacies about morality and God. I think Bertrand Russell can take summary for me.
