I actually had a legit reason for posting earlier, and became distracted by my ranting...
Since I'm spending two months in Johannesburg, I've set up a blog to update while I'm there. This is so (a) I don't have to give out my LJ address to my family, and (b) I can keep people updated in one fell swoop, without flooding email boxes with mass emails.

I don't know how often it'll be updated (i.e. I don't know how often I'll have access to the internet), but it's something to try out. And as a result, you won't be seeing me on here.
