i met this couple today; they were happy and excited. when the man walked outside, the women started explaining to me that he's in the army. he is deployed every six months for one hundred days to afghanistan. she said there's nothing out there, so when he comes home he gets excited about the little things, such as the clearance being an additional fifty percent off at my work. i asked her how she dealt with him leaving, and she began telling me how she just waits for that phone call or person at the door every day that he's away. they have two children together as well. she said he's leaving again soon for the last time. when he comes back he's going to be a bounty hunter. she said it scares her, but the danger thrills him.

i didn't expect them to be such nice people, or that i would ever have a civil conversation with an army family.

i'm finally moving out of my parents house, and i couldn't be more excited.
