Ah, well I have returned after an interesting day (yesterday) at Cedar Point. I really don't feel like typing a ton about it again, so here's the TR I posted on TPOL:
This was most likely one of my last CP trips now for awhile, so I was hoping and praying that I would finally be able to ride TTD. I got your guys' advice: "Run to TTD as soon as you get in". So I shared that advice with the group of friends I was going with. They agreed to wait no matter how long the lines were. We wanted to ride before the expected rains washed away our chances.
So we get to the park a few minutes before 10 (our bus ran a little late). We start running to Top Thrill, and we're about halfway there before I turn back and realized they stopped running. So I roll my eyes and wait up for them and we "power walk" the rest of the way. Finally we get to the line entrance, and two of my friends back out (one of which I was supposed to ride front seat with and had already rode it twice, once with a rollback!) so my other friend and I went to get in line, and the sign indicated that it would be about two hours until we got to ride. I figured since it was probably going to rain later on that this would be the best time to go. Then my other friend says she's not waiting in "that long of a line" just to "ride a 20 second ride" ...so I was pretty mad, to say the least. I debated just getting in line myself, but eventually chose against it. They once again promised to ride it later...I had to argue and say that the lines weren't going to get much better, and it was going to rain, which meant a lot of downtime. They still would not go on it. So, frustrated, we went to Power Tower Space Shot which was a walk-on. After that we looped back in line and rode Turbo Drop. Then we walked over to Corkscrew, another walk-on and I got my headache for the day...
So then, we decided to hit Mantis. The line wasn't too bad, about 25 minutes when we rode it around 11am. It started drizzling in line, but it stopped. Then it started again, but again it stopped. It kept going on and on in five minute increments when we finally arrived in the station. My friends love the back seat on Mantis, and I couldn't care less, so that is where we got on.
Afterwards, we realized we had about two hours until we had to check-in with the rest of our school. I once again suggested Dragster, and let's just say, majority rules and we headed to Millennium Force. The line for MF was about 2 hours on the sign. We wouldn't know for sure because once we were about halfway to the ramp it started pouring rain. And I mean pouring. Us unlucky ones weren't under a tent, and got completely drenched within five minutes. Then Millennium Force shut down, I believe. So we all just left the line, really disappointed. On top of being sopping wet, most of us had forgotten our changed of dry clothes on the bus. We eventually just shrugged it off, and got in line for Raptor. The line was easily and hour, probably closer to an hour and a half because everyone was going to it since most other rides we shutting down. The rain was getting worse and worse. We were just happy to be in the station, where there wasn't a lot of rain, so we waited for front just to stay in the station longer because we were freezing. Finally we got on front seat. What an idiotic decision. Obviously none of us were thinking about the rain drops pelting our face during the ride. Ouch! You should have seen our on ride photos; we all looked like we were dying.
So now it was time to check in. All four of us ran there, drenched, as most others were. We were not allowed on the bus to get our dry clothes, which was a bummer. Either way, we got our names checked in and within five minutes we were off again. We had a long bus trip home, and the bus was air condtioned. Being cold and wet and it was, I decided to buy some new clothes to wear on the way home. I was debating wearing them at the time, and just getting a pancho, when I realized I had lost twenty dollars. Great. So we all just walked off, still soaking wet, to put everyone's dry clothes for the ride home in a locker. That's where we lost two of the people to our group. We looked for them for awhile. After a few unsuccessful attempts, we left. It was still pouring rain, and the closest "shelter" was the TTD lockers. So that is where we went. I decided I had nothing better to do and talked to the ride operators for a few minutes about how Dragster works. I think they thought I was crazy.
By then, the rain had slightly died down, and we saw that Wicked Twister was running, so we walked back over to it and got in the half hour line. I wanted to wait for the back seat, but she wouldn't so we settled for 3rd from the front . We were a little scared, actually, because while watching the ride right before us, the train was running just fine. Launch, twist, down, up, twist. Then as we were watching for it to come back up the spike, we never saw it. We leaned over the bar a little bit to see it had stopped right before the incline. They moved the train back into the station, let a few people off who no longer wanted to ride, and launched again. Luckilly, our ride went fine, even though we didn't ride in the back. Ugh.
By 3 o'clock, my friend wasn't feeling good and the rain was still coming down, so we got on the CP&LE RR and went around once. While doing that, we saw that Millennium Force had started testing, but we had to wait until the train came "to a complete stop before exiting." That we did, and then ran over to Millennium Force. The line was not that bad, it was only an hour before we sat down, second from front, for our ride. It was awesome, and our on ride photos were pretty funny. I was going to buy one when I remembered the 20 bucks I had lost!
So we left MF, and met up with two of our other friends(one of them a first-timer who was afraid of most of the coasters). They wanted to ride Iron Dragon, and the line was short, so that is where we went. Snore...
Afterwards we convinced the two unsure ones in the group to ride Power Tower Space Shot. Success! We got into the supposed 15 minute line to find out that both sides were a walk-on. After PT, it was about 4 o'clock and the rain had almost stopped. My friend had lost her cell phone, so we went to Lost and Found to see if anyone had turned it in. No luck there, so we walked over to Dragster to see if anything was going on. Nope.
Finally, around 5, the rain had completely stopped. However it would sprinkle on and off the rest of the night, which is what kept Dragster down until at least after we left. Most of the people in my group were exhausted, so we sat down for awhile before heading back to Wicked Twister. Again, I wanted to wait for back seat, but the two first-timers of the ride wanted us to ride behind them. 3rd from back was the best we could do.
After another fun ride on WT, we finally spotted our friends who we had lost after the first check-in that day. They were running through the Corkscrew lines yelling "Fourteen!". We ran to ride it with them, and they told us they were trying to ride it twenty times in a row. The lines for Corkscrew were basically non-existent the whole day. It was enough for me to ride it two times before I couldn't take the rattling anymore. We let them go on to get their 20th ride, and they stopped at 21. I looked over from the Corkscrew and saw TTD successfully test. They weren't letting people into line though.
It was getting late, and most of us were really hungry so we decided to make Power Tower Turbo Drop out last ride of the night. Just as we get to the top of the tower, I look over to see Dragster test again. Rollback. That was the last time I saw it run at all the rest of the day.
Our day at the point was pretty much over. We got changed, grabbed something to eat, and went to the arcade to pass the time before we had to leave. The rain was picking up again anyways, and we didn't want to ride anything because all the seats on all the rides were just soaked, and we had just gotten dry!
Once again, no Top Thrill Dragster. Again I will tell myself "Maybe next time."...although that phrase sounds all to familiar.
So there you have it...it was really fun except the TTD part. But it was hilarious on Corkscrew, me and Chelsey were yelling "YEAH!! WHAT?! OKAYYY!!" on separate trains. Lol, the ride ops were staring at me like..."WTF".
I love BNL...thank you kelly for letting me borrow Rock Spectacle! Enjoy The Wallflowers...they rock.
Lindsay's staying the night tomorrow. w00t.
