i walk through the library staring at the books
three floors packed to capacity with books and articles
no one could ever have read all of these
the third floor is silent: inhabited only by the studious
no one could even list the books in this library
humility passes through me
our technology has enabled us to do the impossible
and what do we do with it?
who have I become?
dwindling down from the billions of books, tittles, sentences, to lines, there are words; I am only one of them. but yet, I can change the words around me, who may do the same, who may change pages, which re-write books, that change history.
All of this, because of education: something I will always be a part of.
it is because I am so small that the world is mine for the taking,
and on my twentieth birthday, that sounds pretty good.
