Well, I'm five, maybe ten pages away from finishing my thesis, and I am finding myself in desperate need of a break. I've posted in this journal only twice in a year and a half, and don't think too many people read it.(If you are reading, hi!) However, I thought I might spread the word and share the works of two very talented individuals.
tzegha is one of the most talented vidders around. She has created some amazing and wonderful vids based on the Firefly/Serenity 'verse. Her vids can move you to tears or drive a shiver up and down your spine. She's completed about a dozen videos and trailers, and she never fails to amaze. My favorite remains her first one, the Faux Serenity Trailer, but every single one is enjoyable. Go download them all at once! :-)
After reading so much drama about Harry Potter, I swore I would never get involved in Harry Potter fandom. However, I recently saw and read Goblet of Fire for the first time, and fell in love with the character of one Cedric Diggory. The writer of my favorite X-Men fanfic, minisinoo, has been working on an AU novel and it's absolutely brilliant. Finding Himself focuses on Cedric discovering who he is after almsot dying. Beginning with the final chapters of the fourth book, and continuing through Order of the Phoenix, the novel heavily features a Cedric/Hermione relationship. It's extremely well-written and ties in perfectly with the existing books/movies.
So, not sure how many people will see this, but if you happen upon this post, please check out the work of these two talented ladies. Download/read and tell them how awesome they are. You won't regret it. :)
