I fully own to being a SF geek and a computer geek. I've been a cross-stitch geek for many, many years and thanks to you people am quickly becoming a general-craft geek.
I currently work as a university secretary for the Mathematics & Statistics department. So what happens when I get a hankering to combine my work (ugh) with my hobby (whee)?

I may make some pilows similar to these... they're great!

I'm making me an Imaginary friend pillow for my office out of a full sheet of 7-ct plastic with chenille yarn. Only I didn't think about 2 things: 1) chenille SHEDS like crazy when pulled through the canvas! argh! and 2) I didn't contrast my colors enough. I'll have to outline the design so it pops out of the background more. Live and learn. I also don't think I'll use the chenille for the whipstitching, either. I'm afraid it'll shed down to the thread, so I'll probably use a regular worsted-weight for that.
But it's reeeaaaaaly soft!
Another instructor wants me to do a cross stitch of the Pi/i conversation that goes "Get Real," "Be Rational."

I love it when people claim their geekiness.

For Latin class, I did a simple male face profile with the caption "Amator Latinae" (Latin Lover - double meaning) and another text-only, "Semper Ubi Sub Ubi" (Always wear (where) underwear (where)." I wonder if the teacher still has them...
