If this doesn't apply to you, continue on your merry way

So, this is very specific to a couple people, but I'm about to go to bed and not really in the mood to hunt them down.

I'm pretty generous with my shit--if you want to borrow something of mine, chances are if you ask I'll lend it to you. I'm pretty satisfied; I think among friends sharing is awesome, and should be encouraged.

However, this does not apply to my roommate's stuff. If I were a sophomore, and living with someone everyone knew and was friends with, it might be a different situation. But his friends and mine don't overlap for the most part, and the people he's friends with rarely give me any trouble. His friends are not in my room watching TV whenever I come in, or stopping by to borrow/take his stuff at all hours without asking, or eating *my* food all the time, or just acting like assholes in general.

I love you guys, but he doesn't know you that well and probably doesn't want to, and for the sake of roommate relations for the next semester plus, I really don't want to become "The Freshman Year Roommate With Annoying Friends."

In the interest of not sounding more like a douche-bag myself, that's all I have to say. But c'mon. Have some respect for the roommate, who didn't ask to be subjected to the normally wonderful insanity of my friends. Seriously, he's got enough on his hands with just me.
