Russ is leaning heavily on Journey as she guides him over to a booth.

"--Shit, ow." He presses a hand to his side as he sits carefully, stretched out along one bench.

Gwen turns her head at the sound of his voice.

And figures ... well. Claire's going to be all right. She'll have somebody take a look at her if she doesn't wake up soon.

She sidles over to Russ' booth, slipping her hands into her pockets and trying not to wince at the way he looks.

Soft, "Hey."

Journey glances at Gwen and Russ, gives Russ a quick hug, and leaves.

Russ looks up at Gwen -- and just looks, for a second.

Gwen ... shifts her weight from one foot to the other.

Runs a hand through her hair.

And looks back, trying not to stare at the black eye and marks on his neck-- she's not sure what's going on, exactly, but if he doesn't want to speak just now she's sure as hell not going to make him.

Daniel appears at Gwen's shoulder.

He looks at her.

He looks at Russ.

He then makes a face easily read as 'I'm not touching this situation with a ten foot pole', and sets a neat pile of bandages down on the table, along with a basin of water.

"Make use and pass it on when you're done." Daniel gives Russ a more serious once-over. "Any injuries where we can't see?"

He nods and runs a hand along his left side, wincing.

"Got kicked. Think maybe they cracked a rib. Fucked up my knee somehow, too."

Gwen winces too, and tries not to get angry.

There's not much reason for it, when the people who did it are dead.

... She also ignores Daniel's expression completely.

"Thanks," she says, of the bandages and basin.

"I'm not a doctor, but get something cold on your knee so the swelling goes down enough to tell what is wrong with it. Strap your ribs, and don't move around too much."

He raises an eyebrow.

"That includes going wolf, because I can't imagine shifting bones is a good idea when they're broken."

Russ winces. "Not fucking likely. That idea hurts. Gwen, you got any ice?"

Fortunately for Russ' masculine pride, Gwen returns with a bowl of ice and a few dishcloths, which she sets down on the table.

"This ought to be enough for the knee and your eye," she says. "And you side. But if it's not, there's more in the kitchen."

She tries to appear helpful and efficient rather than anxious and tired.

He reaches for the towels and the ice, and starts making a compress.

Gwen nods, giving Daniel a smile.

"Yeah. Thanks for holding down the fort."

As he turns to go, she glances at Russ.

And hesitates.

"Do you ... want any help with that?"
