There is something most endearing about the telly series little house on the prarie. I'm so drawn into its world yet many of its assumptions seem so dated, such as the importance of marriage for women. I guess i've come to this series awfully late, since I never read these books being more of a Brit reader when I was a mere chit of a girl. Children Literature often fulfils me much more than adult Lit and I'm compelled to obtain the little house series.
Hmm i suppose that i'm drawn to this telly series because it's set in a rural/agrarian setting. It hints of a gentler time and though some episodes seem syrupy sweet, it has gut-wrenching moments too.
I don't even know why i'm posting about this i guess watching an episode inspired these thoughts.
Perhaps it is because this series is infused with charm, innocence, and simplicity hot to mention moments of goofiness, cross purposes etc.
Yes this on a freezing cold day when i should be exercizing instead, i write this. I just wish i didn't feel so cold.
