Day two since the encounter with the frighteningly huge boar, and Jon was ready to own up (to himself, at least) that he needed a little more relief than simply just sitting around and waiting for his body to heal. He'd never actually been to the hot springs, but found his way through the caves easily enough.
Stripping quickly and lowering himself into the water, Jon sighed in audible relief; the heat was like magic on his sore ribs, and he tipped his head back onto a rock and closed his eyes. He could actually breathe, by all the gods, and it didn't hurt every time he took more than a shallow breath, either. He stayed in the water until his fingertips were wrinkled, getting out and pulling on his underclothes and breeches, standing in the light for a moment to inspect his bruises. They really were colorful, he thought with a chagrined smile. Purple, blue, green and yellow splotches covered his entire left side, and probably went onto his back as well, though he obviously couldn't see them.
Frowning, he turned to pick up his shirt and started violently when he saw Susan standing not five feet from him.
