Chapter Four:
Heechul gaped at Sungmin as he walked by and looked from him back to Kyuhyun then to Hankyung. ".... The fuck was that?! After all that hard work and Sungmin just kisses the life out of him and here I am stuck with nothing!" he pouted, crossing his arms. Hankyung glared at him. "Long story I was trying to set Min up with Kyu even though Min hated Kyu but anyways...." he mumbled going into Ryeowook's room with Sungmin.      He tapped Min on the shoulder once inside. "Ok, you outside now. I need to talk to Wookie first," he said shooing Sungmin away.
Ryeowook shot him a bird over his shoulder. "I don't like you Hee, now leave my room before I call a nurse," he growled. Heechul's initial reaction was anger, but an undeniable hurt was there as well. Moving without thinking, he backed up and fled the room, not stopping as either Sungmin or Hankyung called his name. He didn't run far before Hankyung had him around the waist and Leeteuk was trying to scold them for all the running. Heechul was kicking and screaming, hitting Hankyung's chest over and over again with no results. Hankyung reached a hand up to push away Heechul's hair but Heechul bit hard, drawing blood, and took off running again when he was set free. Leeteuk watched him go in shock and quickly went to find a first aid kit.
"Yah! Heechul-ah!.... Aish I wish he'd at least tell me what's wrong," he muttered. Leeteuk made a discontented noise. "It's Heechul.... He hides when he's hurting so he can seem stronger to others. He doesn't like it when people rely on him and he lets them down," he said finishing bandaging Hankyung's hand. Hankyung looked down at him. "Take care of Chul, okay?" Leeteuk said leaving no room for talk as he walked briskly to take care of Ryeowook.
Feeling a tug on his sleeve, Hankyung looked at Sungmin. "I didn't kiss Kyuhyun to make hyung mad and I don't want all this stress... Just tell hyung if he ever wants to kiss someone for revenge again, I'm not available anymore," he said angrily, heading back down the hallway to fill out Ryeowook's release papers.
Feeling betrayed, Hankyung followed after Heechul. Exiting the hospital, he found Heechul walking down the sidewalk, stumbling really. Running to catch up with him, Hankyung grabbed his wrist. “Heechul, look at me.” When Heechul refused to acknowledge he was being spoken to, Hankyung got angry. “Look at me, damn you!”
“Leave me alone, Hankyung. I need to be alone,” Heechul whispered. He tried to push Hankyung away, but he didn’t have the strength to do so. “Leave, Hankyung, before I get angry.”
“You won’t get angry, Chul. You’re upset because of what Ryeowook said. And I think I know what it was…”
Heechul looked at Hankyung, eyes going wide. “Y-you couldn’t possibly know what he said.” Heechul looked away, finally pulling himself free.
“Don’t leave, Chul, or I might not be here tomorrow.” Hankyung pressed his lips to Heechul’s jaw line. “Please, forget about him and love only me.”
“I’m not sure that I can, Hankyung. You left me before. I-I don’t know if you’ll do that again.” Heechul took a step back, turning around. “I need some time to get over him completely, Han. Leave me alone until I call you.”
As Heechul started to walk away, Hankyung felt a tear slide down his cheek. He fell to his knees as the other continued to walk, getting farther and farther away. “Hee-Heechul, don’t leave!” When the other kept walking, Hankyung felt his resolve completely falter. He inhaled deeply, getting ready to shout. “Heechul, I know who jumped Ryeowook!” Hankyung saw Heechul stop and turn around, a shocked expression on his face.

Safely in the passenger seat of Eunhyuk’s car, Kyuhyun used the mirror on the visor to clean the blood off of his lip and forehead. He ignored the inquiring looks his friend gave him. He wasn’t in the mood to be interrogated. He wanted to hit something. He didn’t understand the motive behind Sungmin kissing him. He wished he knew, but he couldn’t find a reason other than pity…and that just made things worse.
“So, where to, Kyuhyun?” Eunhyuk asked, turning on the engine.
“Take me to the nearest bar. Then call Donghae to meet us so he can drive us home. I have something I need to forget about for a while,” Kyuhyun replied.
Eunhyuk sighed, but did as he was told. He wished he was the one able to talk Kyuhyun out of getting drunk, but nobody could do that. It would take a miracle for that to happen. He pulled his phone out and hit the speed dial for Donghae’s number. “Hae, meet me and Kyu at the bar down the road from the hospital, okay? We need someone to drive us home after we’ve had a few drinks.” Hanging up, Eunhyuk looked at Kyuhyun. “He’ll meet us here soon.”
“Thanks, Eunhyuk.” Kyuhyun climbed out of the car once it was parked and entered the bar. Seeing him approach, the bartender got the strongest liquor ready and poured him a glass. “Nice to see you again, Kangin.”
Smiling, Kangin poured a drink for Eunhyuk when he sat next to Kyuhyun. “Nice to see you, too, Kyuhyun. So, any luck with that guy you like?” Kangin replied.
Scoffing, Kyuhyun shook his head. His shoulders slumped in defeat. “He kissed me today, but I think it was out of pity.”
After they poured Eunhyuk a few more drinks, Kangin looked at Kyuhyun. “That guy you wanted me to get rid of, I couldn’t do it. Some stupid foreigner got in the way. And then I tried to bring that kid your crushing on straight to you, but they got in the way again.”
“It’s okay, hyung,” Kyuhyun hiccupped. He smirked. “The foreigner will be gone in no time and then Sungmin will be mine while those bastards rot away with no one.” When Donghae entered and came up to him, Kyuhyun gave him a smile, his conversation with Kangin over as quickly as it had began.

The door slammed open and Heechul drug Hankyung inside. "Who jumped Ryeowook?" he demanded. The look in Heechul's eyes confirmed Hankyung's thoughts.
"You love him," he said. Heechul grabbed Hankyung's shirt.
"Forget that. Forget me right now! Who jumped Ryeowookie?!" he growled.
Hankyung looked away. "Kyuhyun.... It was Kyuhyun," he said.
Heechul let his grip slacken. ".... I'll kill him!" he growled. Heechul paced back and forth, finally stopping when Hankyung left the room. He followed, pissed. He crossed his arms when he saw Hankyung packing his bags. "Where are you going?" he asked.
"Home.... You have your own things to take care of Heechul.... And I'm not one of them," he said zipping his bag up. Heechul didn't move when Hankyung got to the doorway, but Hankyung just pushed him back, moving past him easily. Heechul shouted at him, but Hankyung ignored it. He ignored the pain that gripped at him like a thousand knives slashing at his chest. He got on his motorcycle and left, not looking back.
Heechul's anger faded quickly and he slammed the door, sliding down against it. He buried his hands in his face, clutching at his hair. "What have I done?" he groaned. He glared. He wouldn't let it happen for nothing. Grabbing his keys, he left to confront Kyuhyun.

Sungmin sighed, signing paper after paper of this and that. By the time he was done he'd been told everything he needed to know by Leeteuk and to bring him back for a checkup in a week. "Sungmin listen.... I'm giving you a prescription along with his other medication to help control his personality disorder. You have to make him take it. If he gets really violent like with Kyuhyun... it could make his condition worse. He doesn't need the stress," he said. Sungmin nodded quietly, walking with him back to Ryeowook's room to pick up Ryeowook.
Entering the room, Sungmin smiled at Ryeowook. “Time to go, Wookie,” he said. When the other didn’t acknowledge he was there, he walked closer. “Wookie, it’s time to go. I signed your papers to be released.”
“I did a bad thing, didn’t I, Minnie?” Ryeowook asked, his voice just a whisper. He looked up at Sungmin with watery eyes.
Smiling sadly, Sungmin hugged the other. “It’s okay, Wookie. Once we leave the hospital, just put everything out of your mind about what happened, okay? I won’t even ask who jumped you anymore.”
Nodding, Ryeowook hugged Sungmin back. “Let’s go, Minnie. I’m tired of this place.” Getting up, he went to change into regular clothes in his room’s bathroom. Coming back out, he took the hand that Sungmin offered. Going into the hall, they spotted Heechul coming toward them, an unpleasant look gracing his face.
“Where the hell is Kyuhyun?” he barked. His eyes were colder than they had ever seen them before. They were eyes of a potential killer. “Where the fuck is he?!”
“He left the hospital after I kissed him. I don’t mean to be so rude, hyung, but I need to take Wookie home.” Sungmin pulled Ryeowook with him passed the elder, quickly escaping his death glares.
Getting even more irritated, Heechul turned to glare at them. “I bet you didn’t know that it was Kyuhyun who jumped Ryeowook!” he shouted at them down the hall. Ryeowook stilled, nearly making Sungmin fall backwards as he had tried to keep walking.
Facing the elder, Ryeowook’s eyes were wide. “H-how do you know that? There’s no proof. There’s no way that you could have figured it out.”
“I didn’t have to. Hankyung told me.” Just saying his name now made Heechul’s heart twist painfully inside his chest. “Somehow he figured it out.”
“Maybe he was lying to you.”
“Why would he lie to me? What has he got to gain?”
“Your undivided attention. Think about it, hyung, he hates the fact that you follow after me like a lost puppy. He loves you. Go be with him since I don’t love you.” Ryeowook turned, this time pulling Sungmin as they left. Heechul stood motionless in the hall for a minute before he slammed his fist into the wall. He stormed out of the hospital, searching frantically for Kyuhyun to confirm what Hankyung had said. Again, that painful twist in his chest at the mention of the other’s name.

Donghae pulled one of Kyuhyun’s arms over his shoulders as he hoisted him out of the car. The smell of alcohol was strong on his breath. Using Kyuhyun’s keys, he unlocked the front door, managing to get his friend up to the bedroom. Laying him out on the bed, Donghae stood up, turning to leave. Before he could take a step, Kyuhyun grabbed his wrist.
     “Don’t leave, Hae…stay here…you and Eun…” Kyuhyun mumbled.
Rolling his eyes, Donghae pulled his wrist out of the other’s grip. “You’ll be fine, Kyuhyun. Just sleep this off,” Donghae replied. Again, he turned to leave, this time Kyuhyun’s words stopping him.
     “He’s coming after me, Hae…”
Donghae stared at Kyuhyun shocked, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "Who's coming after you?" he asked.
Kyuhyun looked at the ceiling, his vision swimming. "Heechul hyung....... I did something really bad," he said almost as if he was talking to himself.

Angry golden brown eyes scanned the folders at the school. Student information was printed above the door of the room he was in. He wasn't supposed to be here but a few favors and blackmail and he was walking around with the master key. He skimmed the folders. "Cho... Cho... Ch, here it is," he said snatching the folder down, not caring a few others fell with it. He skimmed the pages quickly and his eyes narrowed on what he was looking for. "Address... Bingo," he said taking the folder and leaving the room in a hurry, his mind set on one thing.

On the way home, Sungmin kept glancing at Ryeowook nervously. "You got really jumpy when Hyung asked about Kyuhyun..... I mean who can prove he didn’t do it? And what if Hankyung hyung was right? Why would you protect him?" he asked, slightly hurt that everyone else found out before the best friend did.
"It wasn't him.... that's all that concerns you Sungmin now drop it. You promised," Ryeowook responded with a frown. Sungmin seemed to deflate at that, feeling useless. When they got to Sungmin's home, he helped Ryeowook inside and gave him his medicine before making him lie down to rest.
His mind was on Heechul and that look he had in his eyes and it made him shudder in fear. "God help Kyuhyun if he finds him," he muttered.

Hushed whispers were heard but undistinguished by Kyuhyun as Eunhyuk and Donghae argued outside his door. "But he could be hurt," Hae hissed.
"I don't care... I'm drunk and you're not a good protector when Heechul's involved. Let's leave him here," Eunhyuk whined, wanting to go home.
"You're being a bad hyung Hyuk," Donghae said but froze when he heard a knock on the door. It was a fast, in a hurry kind of knock. He made Eunhyuk sit down and headed to open the door. A very pissed off Heechul greeted him.
     "Where is he?" he growled.
Donghae frowned. "He's not here... he and Hyukkie went out to get something for his Umma while I watched the house," he said doing his best to keep calm.
"Like hell! I saw Eunhyuk through the window," he growled, pushing Donghae back into the house and moving quickly to each room. Donghae tried to stop him but before he could get to him properly, Heechul had found what he was looking for and had Kyuhyun by the collar. "You're in for it you know that?! Nobody screws me over like that! Nobody hurts my loved ones! And nobody ruins my life!" he growled, punching Kyuhyun hard in the face. Eunhyuk, even in his drunken state, realized the severity of the situation when he saw rivulets of blood trailing from Kyuhyun's nose.
Eunhyuk and Donghae pulled Heechul off of Kyuhyun, barely holding him back. They heard someone walk in the front door, coming toward the room they were in. Looking over as the footsteps approached, relief radiated from Donghae when Kangin appeared at the door.
“Kangin hyung, get Kyuhyun out of here before Heechul kills him!” Donghae managed to speak through clenched teeth.
Looking over, Heechul growled at Kangin. “What the hell are you doing here?!”
“I followed Donghae over when he brought Kyuhyun home. Things felt weird. Besides, Princess, I think I should be the one to ask that question,” Kangin replied. He walked over, hoisting Kyuhyun to his feet. “Let’s go, Kyuhyun. We should get you to the hospital. You might have a broken nose.” Kangin glared at Heechul as he shielded the younger on the way out. “Don’t think we won’t press charges.”
After they heard Kangin’s car drive away, Donghae and Eunhyuk released Heechul. Heechul thrashed around, knocking things off of the table and walls. He collapsed to his knees, tears falling from his eyes.
“Dammit, dammit, dammit,” Heechul muttered, fist hitting the floor each time he spoke the word.
Donghae pulled Eunhyuk with him, slowly walking backwards from the room. Fleeing the house, they climbed into Donghae’s car. Eunhyuk called Kangin, trying to find out where he would be going after the hospital.
“Kangin hyung said he’s taking Kyuhyun to his place after the hospital. He told us not to go in case Heechul is following us and that he’ll keep us updated,” Eunhyuk explained, almost completely sober after what just occurred.

Heechul sat up from his position on the floor and looked at the ceiling, willing his tears to dry. "Hangeng left... Ryeowook hates me... and now i'm most likely going to jail," he said drawing in a shaky breath.
He wondered what he'd do and on his way to his car, it hit him. "Sungmin......" he muttered, plopping down into the seat. He shut the door and sighed. "No..... hurting Sungmin will only make things worse," he said and groaned, heading for home... only without Hangeng there it wasn't as welcoming. Flipping his phone open, he dialed Hankyung's number.

Ryeowook and Sungmin stumbled into Sungmin's house laughing about some joke Ryeowook had cracked. "I'm gonna go get some ice cream and nuke it so we can share a milk shake," Sungmin said making Ryeowook lie down. Ryeowook smiled, feeling like a little kid again. He let his hand go to the bandages on his shoulder and frowned. "Back!" Sungmin squeaked when he had the ice cream ready with two straws. "Let's eat," he said smiling.
Ryeowook kissed his cheek in thanks. "Thanks Min," he said.

Kangin brought Kyuhyun to his home and frowned. "I didn't think that princess had it in him to punch someone that hard," he said and Kyuhyun glared at him but it lost its potency.
"Shut up. It hurt like hell and i'm hung over and almost went to jail for that reason exactly," he growled, crossing his arms.
“So, you going to tell your parents what happened or should I?” Kangin unlocked his door, allowing the younger in before him. “I don’t want you to be around Heechul anymore. It’s hazardous to your health.”
“I’m not in the mood, Kangin hyung. I’m going to bed. Where should I sleep?”
“Go ahead and use my room, Kyu. You can borrow my clothes, too, so go shower if you want.”
     “Thanks, hyung.”
After Kyuhyun left the room, Kangin dialed a number, the person picking up on the first ring. “How are you, little cousin of mine? Can you do me a favor? You can? That’s great! Befriend Heechul at school, then find a way to get him alone. Knock him out and take him to Grandpa Kim’s abandoned warehouse and keep him locked up. He broke Kyu’s nose…and you know I don’t take to people abusing our Kyu.”

Sungmin’s parents came home to find their son and Ryeowook asleep on the couch, the empty ice cream container and straws dumped on the top of the trash can. His mom chuckled, going to a closet and bringing a blanket back to cover them up. They had been watching television and just seemed to fall asleep. His parents made their way upstairs, leaving Sungmin and Ryeowook to sleep.

Heechul sat on his bed, fresh tears spilling over after his conversation with Hankyung. He had begged Hankyung to come back so they could talk, but he had refused. He told Heechul that he was fed up with the way he acted the past couple days while he was around, that he was infuriated about it.
“I should chase after him, right?” Heechul asked himself aloud. He stared across his room into one of his mirrors scattered around the spacious area. He looked terrible. His eyes were red and puffy from crying, his hair was tangled and in disarray from pulling it, and his clothes were dotted with blood, be it his or Kyuhyun’s, he wasn’t sure. He kept staring in his reflection, just dazed. Even when his mom tried talking to him, he didn’t snap out of it.

Kyuhyun emerged from his shower about an hour later feeling much better but his nose hurt more. He sat down by Kangin and frowned, sitting in silence for a long while. "Hyung..... Don't be mad at Heechul... I deserved this," he said after thinking about it.
Kangin gaped at him. "What?!" he screeched.
"I did something really bad... I deserve a broken nose considering I broke someone else's ribs," he said.
"Yeah yeah if that was the way the world worked Kyuhyun then everyone who was in jail for rape would get raped and whoever murders gets murdered but it's not that way so I'm gonna be mad if I want," he said.
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes. "Whatever hyung."

During the night, Ryeowook got cold and woke up. His ribs were killing him and he groaned quietly so as to not wake Sungmin. He felt his hold slip away in the pain and knew he'd lost the fight with his other half. He peered curiously at Sungmin, ignoring the pain. It was a nagging feeling he pushed to the side. He shook Sungmin slightly. Enough to wake him up and tell him to go to the bedroom so they could sleep properly. Sungmin followed him, wiping at his eyes, shutting the door groggily. He felt a sharp sting at his hairline and yelped. Ryeowook had a grip on his hair and it was a good one.
"Minnie hyung I wonder what your blood would look like on those pretty pink sheets of yours? Like Kyuhyun's looked on that tile floor I bet," he said.
"Lixu...." Sungmin said and felt the grip slacken a bit.
     "What?" Lixu asked.
"I'm going to call you Lixu... you're not Ryeowook when you're like this," Sungmin said. Ryeowook looked sad and Sungmin felt bad as he was let go.
"I know.... but you're nothing to me when I'm like this," Lixu growled and pushed Sungmin against the wall, hands around his throat. "It's really an experience to have the life choked out of you until you can't breathe," he muttered before biting Sungmin's lip, sliding his tongue over the wound after and then kissing him, making Sungmin's eyes go wide. Lixu's grip tightened and Sungmin gasped, his lungs burning. Just when his vision blackened around the edges, the hands dropped and he could hear sobbing. He waited for his vision to clear and ears to quit ringing before he slumped forwards onto Ryeowook who barely caught him.
"I can't do it.... I'm sorry hyung. I'm so sorry hyung. Please forgive me...." he said, large tears pouring down his adorable face. Sungmin hugged him gently.
"I'll be alright.... take your medicine and come sleep," he said softly.

Around one in the morning, Heechul sat up glaring. "I have to do something," he muttered and called Hankyung as he pulled on his shoes, not caring he was in his pajamas. He left a voicemail. "I don't know or care whether you're in China or Korea.... We have to settle this." He hung up heading to the airport. It wasn't likely Hankyung had stayed anyways and he had enough money on his debit card to buy a house. He could always come back if he was wrong.
Driving down the street, he noticed a sleek black motorcycle parked in the driveway of a house. The license plate looked too familiar to him, so Heechul slammed on his breaks. He didn’t know who this house belonged to, but he was going to find out. He knocked on the door, his fist pounding a little too loudly for the middle of the night. When the person answered, Heechul was shocked at who it was.
“Hello?” Leeteuk asked as he opened the door. Leeteuk froze in seeing Heechul on his doorstep. “Heechul, what brings you here?”
“The motorcycle in your driveway…it…” Heechul couldn’t finish the sentence as his eyes fell upon Hankyung standing a little ways back. He was shirtless, his belt unfastened and hanging loosely around his hips. He had a groggy look to him as if he had been in some sort of trance. What caught Heechul’s attention the most was the beer bottle in Hankyung’s hand, three-quarters of its contents empty.
“What about the motorcycle, Heechul?” Leeteuk’s question snapped Heechul’s attention back to their conversation.
“Oh, I was just looking for Hankyung. And I found him…” The look in Heechul’s eyes wasn’t anger or repulsion for once. It was a look of sadness and genuine hurt.

Kyuhyun tried to sleep in Kangin’s room, but all he managed to do was toss and turn. Every time he felt like he was finally falling asleep, visions of Ryeowook looming over him caused him to startle awake. The last time it happened, he had actually screamed, causing Kangin to rush into the room in a hurry. In his haste, Kangin busted his knee on the doorframe. As he bent over to caress his kneecap, his head collided with the desk.
“Hyung, turn on a light before you try to move any more,” Kyuhyun said, rolling his eyes.
Kangin stood and turned the light on with the switch, rubbing his head with one hand, his knee with the other. “Why’d you scream?” he asked, reminding Kyuhyun of his inability to sleep.
Kyuhyun frowned. “I can’t sleep. Every time I start to doze off, all I see is Ryeowook and that maniacal smirk on his face.”
“Well, I have an idea of what we can do since you can’t sleep.” Kangin turned the light back off before he walked carefully over to the bed. He didn’t allow their eyes to adjust before he did so, leaving Kyuhyun completely in the dark as to what he was about to do.
Feeling Kangin’s weight added to the bed, Kyuhyun became confuse. “Hyung, you are not sleeping in the same bed as me. Get off.” Kyuhyun felt Kangin shift positions on the bed, suddenly sensing him above him. “Uh…K-Kangin hyung, what are you…?”
“Just stay still and keep quiet,” Kangin said, hushing him. Without warning, he placed his lips on the younger’s neck, gently leaving a trail down to his collarbone. Kyuhyun’s eyes went wide at the action, his mind screaming at him to try to leave.
