“Mama’s sleeping again..”
The boy was sighing weakly as he slowly leaned down for kissing his mother’s forehead. Taking a seat beside the sleeping figure, the boy took a hold of Ryosuke’s hand and rubbed it softly. It was almost a year, and it made Kazu worried more for predicting how much suffer his mother was. The long time Ryosuke was sick, the long time also he had suffered in the past. It was almost a year, and the situation still laid in a mess. His Papa also hadn’t opened the eyes. Nothing happened, whether it was a progress or decreastion. It was still the same.
His patience was almost broken. Honestly, there was some times when he really wanted to give up. But he didn’t know where he should go if he released this sick situation. He couldn’t ever run away, he couldn’t ever give up.
He shouldn’t ever give up.
“What should I do, then..” He sighed again, staring at his mother’s face intensely. “Mama, you’re so careless. If only you didn’t do anything weird in the past-”
A pause.
“I’m sorry. I’m so glad that I was born. I’m so glad you were protecting me, giving me a wonderful life and always loving me.” Kazu smiled, carressing the pale face of his mother’s face, “Kazu loves Mama.” But a bitterness was showering the smile all the sudeen. “I’m sorry I can’t protect you just like the way you did to me, Mama. I can’t do anything for you, to Papa, to our family..”
Wiping a tear that was falling down quickly, he tried hard not to cry again.
“Mama, I love you.”
Giving a last rub on Ryosuke’s hand before he slowly stood up, making his way to get out from the room. But a weak whimper stopped his movement all the sudden. The boy turned his head, seeing his mother was curling up into a ball and some tears was already wetting the cheeks.
“Mama, what’s happening again..” his heart was broken everytime this moment happened, he stepped closer and gave a tight hug for calming his mother’s body.
“Don’t.. leave..”
Kazu’s eyes widened.
“Stay.. stay here..”
A tear rolled down from Kazu’s eyes, he closed his eyes as his arms tightened the hug as he realized it was the very first time his mother said words properly to him,“I’m here, Mama. I’ll always be here. Don’t cry..”
Unexpectedly, Ryosuke’s arms were moving slowly to reply the hug.
And it made Kazu release the tears more.
“Mama..”
“.. stay.. please..”
Kazu managed to curve a small smile, “Forever, Mama. I’ll stay forever.”
A silence for a moment.
“Mama.” He whispered softly, there was quite a long gap of time before his tiny lips opened for making a small voice, “Can you say my name?”
He kept his heart for not breaking as he got no response from the question. But something that made him excited, even for just a little, was the arms of his mother tightened the lock of hug.
“My name, Mama. Can you say it?” Kazu repeated again, trying to make some hope even just a little.
No response. The boy pulled himself back from the hug, staring at his mother’s innocent eyes while curving a smile.
“Ka- zu.” The boy said slowly, the gaze for his mother was growing softer. “Ka- zu- ki.”
Ryosuke’s lips hadn’t parted yet, no voice escaped from his mouth.
“Ka- zu.” But the boy was still trying. He still remembered the day when his mother did this to him long years ago, and he never expected the day this thing would happen again with the switch of roles. And it hurt him more. “Ka- zu.”
“Ka..” one voice from his mother, making a little thrill into the boy’s body, “.. zu.”
The boy smiled. “Kazu.”
“Ka..zu.”
At least, this was the first time for Kazu to hear his mother said his name again after a long time. He couldn’t hold back tears and his smile in the same time, he leaned closer and hugged his mother for the second time. Tighter.

“Kei auntie is late again.”
The boy sighed uncomfortably, wandering his eyes around the see the door which still closed and signaling no one would open it in the near time. It had been two days since he didn’t go to the hospital to see his father because Kouta and Kei were busy with the works that the boy never understand. He wasn’t permitted to go by himself, and being a good boy like he was, he obediently stayed still with his mother in the house.
He walked frantically, peeking into his mother’s room and he soon closed the door as he saw his mother was having a treatment with the pshyciatrist.
Making some steps, he blinked his eyes as he caught an abandoned room sight which was almost forgotten. He remembered some times his father was in the room, but the room was rarely used since.. he even couldn’t remember when it was. Placing his hand on the knob, he slowly opened the door and his eyes were adjusting the darkness of the room before his hand reached out for lighting the lamp.
“Ah.. this is..”
He forgot thet his father had a studio in here. There was a drum, two guitars, one keyboard, a bass, and some mics. He remembered Yabu ji-san and Kei auntie some times always entered this room too, with some friends that he forgot the names. And soon, some melodious tone would be heard.
But it was happened very rarely, so rarely until he couldn’t remember when the melodious tone was heard for the last time.
“I remember Papa would always hold this things..” Kazu grabbed the two sticks, holding them with both of his hands, “.. and sat in here.” And he made his way to sit behind the drum sets, and then he giggled. “I feel so high..”
Turning his position slightly on the left side, his lips immediately opened in excitement the moment he made a light crash sound from the closed hi-hat. The smile grew wider as the stick hit the snare joining the crash sound before, soon enough he tried to hit the foot pedal to and he heard a bass sound from the lowest drum.
“Whoa..”
This was not a stabil rhytim, however it was his very first time for holding the sticks and hitting some sets of drum. But at least, he felt some indescribable feeling. He felt like he was turning into his father’s figure. And he was happy for it.
”Mama always loves Papa’s eyes everytime he plays drum. It’s so deep, even though it’s rather scary but.. Mama can always find a happiness in it.”
Crash.. crash.. crash..
Thump.. thump.. thump..
”Papa’s movement always so fast and cool, the voice from the drum is tempting to be heard. Just like this-“
A giggle from the little boy, “Mama.. you’re just like Papa’s fangirl!”
A double crash from the cymbals finally ended his first experiment.
Still having a satisfied grin on his face, he turned his head to the door as he realized someone had been watching him. It might be Kouta who already came. But his eyes suddenly bulged out as he saw the figure who was standing on the door wasn’t Kouta, or Kei. Iit was his mother.
He didn’t know what the things that made him frozen at that time. He found out his all body was numb, his mind was totally blank by the gaze of his mother. Their looks were locked, and the moment when Ryosuke’s lips were moving and made a smile, the boy rushed up to his mother and hugged Ryosuke’s thigh.
“Do you like it?” the boy asked softly, raising his head to look up at Ryosuke, still with the arms made a shorty hug. “You miss this sound, right?”
Ryosuke squatted down, smiling warmly at his little boy. “Kazu.”
Kazu spontantly laughed, tears of happiness dripped down from the eyes, “You finally said my name! You learned your lesson well, Mama.”
No voice from Ryosuke again, his mother still didn’t wanna talk more. But the boy could feel the feeling of his mother was showing his progress, it was a long time since his heart could bounce excitedly in a warmth. This was the happiest thing that ever happened in his life.
The door opened, revealing a pale figure who had been stunning for quite a long time.
“Kei auntie!” Kazu shrieked, slowly breaking the hug and stared at his auntie with his glime eyes, “Mama just said my name! He also smiled back at me! Is that great, Kei auntie?”
Kei covered his mouth with his hand, almost didn’t believe with the words and the scenery in front of him. “Ryo-chan?” he called softly. “Oh God, Ryo-chan, is it you?” he reach his hands to palm the younger’s cheeks with his hands as he felt that his eyes almost got burning.
“Kei auntie, Mama hasn’t healed yet.”
Even though there was a little of dissapointment from the words, but still, Kei never ever felt happy like this. This was the first time for him could touch his cousin again without any refusal as a response after a long time, “But this is.. this is so much better. Kazu-chan, you’ve done very well.”
Kazu pouted, rolling his eyes playfully. “It’s not because of me, Kei auntie. Besides, Mama is still...”
Kei was still staring at his cousin who was still didn’t make any significant reaction to all Kei’s touch. But he was still glad for knowing that Ryosuke was looking back at him, he was not being ignored just like Ryosuke usually did to him before. His cousin’s features were still the same, and Ryosuke looked so much fresh than the other days. The thing that still made Kei worried just Ryosuke’s attitudes and movement, even Ryosuke’s gaze which were just like a little kid. But once again, it was so much better than the other days.
“Kei auntie, we’ll go to hospital to see Papa, right? Where’s Kouta ji-san?”
A huge smile suddenly appeared from the pretty guy, “He reached to the hospital first, Kazu-chan.”
***
It was a miracle.
For God’s sake, it was really a miracle for the boy. His eyes couldn’t be dried during sitting in the car since he heard that Yuto was finally woken up. He lost for words, the thing that spoke up only his happiness tears. His hand took a hold of Ryosuke’s hand beside him, murmuring that his Papa was given a chance to open his eyes again, to give a chance to fix their life. He tried to make his mother remember everything about his father, even though there was no specific response, he was just still trying.
Kei didn’t really agree when Kazu begged to him for bringing Ryosuke to the hospital, but he had no other choice. He called the pshyciatrist, making sure that the doctor could accompany his cousin the moment they reached the hospital.
The car was stopped.
Kazu immediately got off from the car as he gave a little glance to the psychiatrist nonverbally to ask a help about his mother before he ran off to enter the hospital. He could feel his heart could make an explosion in every minute, he really wanted to see his father. He really wanted to. He missed his father’s figure, he missed his father’s calm eyes, he missed his father’s voice. He missed everything about his father and all the thing he wanted to reach was only to open the door of Yuto’s room.
He was here.
Opening the door of the room, he stopped his feet from running for awhile as his heart suddenly felt stopped beating when he saw an expected scenery in front of him.
“Papa!”
Running once more, he plunged his own body to the figure that he really missed. A familiar pair of arms encircled his shoulders, he cried and sobbed hardly as he could feel the very familiar warmth touch his skin.
“Kazu, don’t cry.”A warmth of his father’s hand was felt on his head, patting it softly.
But unexpectedly the boy was still crying, harder than before. And Yuto could only rub Kazu’s back to calm his son’s petite body.
“You left me! You won’t be forgiven if you leave me again for the second time!”
“What should I do? You don’t want a classic words like; I’m sorry. Right?”
The boy pulled his body back, staring at his father with his puffy eyes, “Nope. I was not serious. I’m sorry. I’m glad I can see you again, Papa. You should know how much I miss you! Papa, I love you!” He snuggled to his father, enjoying every soft touch, every fragnance, and every thing that reminded him of a happiness in the past.
“I love you too and I’m really sorry.” Dearly kissing his son’s cheek, he stared at the round eyes of his son, “Are you doing well?”
“I’m okay, Papa.” A huge grin, “My height is also incresed! See? I’ll grow up just like you one day! I’ll beat Mama’s height!”
Yuto laughed, “Mama will be upset to hear that.”
“No. Mama is kind.” Kazu responded with the voice which was a little down as he saw the faceline of his father had changed when he brought his mother in the topic talk. “Mama’s condition is fine, a little. He can say my name, Papa! He also has calmed himself. I’m sure the usual Mama will be back!”
Even though his father responded the words only with a smile, but the boy could see a relief in his father’s eyes, “You’re happy, aren’t you?”
"I never felt this happy in my life." Yuto answered, giving a kiss on his son's forehead, "I'm glad that you're my son."
The boy just giggled before their attentions were suddenly pulled to the door that was suddenly crack opened, and Kazu's smile went wider as he saw his mother was entering the room with Kei and the pshyciatrist. Yuto was stunned, it felt like a very long time ago until he finally could see the figure that he hurt for long years. He still didn't know what the best attitude he should do, he was still not ready to face him. The boy jumped from his father's lap, approaching his mother and held his hand, managing to bring his mother to the side of the bed.
"Papa's waiting, Mama--"
SLAP
"Ryosuke!" Yuto shouted out as his body reflectly almost wanted to get off from the bed, but Kei was holding him to prevent him from his falling.
Meanwhile Kazu was still standing on his position, almost seen motionless with his red cheek. "What's wrong, Mama?" he could only ask, trying hard not to cry because of the hard slap before. "I'm sorry, I.."
Ryosuke didn't even bother to look up at his son. His gaze immediately turned into a glare, piercing Yuto's eyes. He stepped backwards, slowly hiding himself on Kouta's back while grasping the older's shoulders as if it was representing his fearness between his glare. No need an explanation from the pshyciatrist, everyone in the room immediately knew that Ryosuke still didn't wanna meet his husband. And there was Yuto with the only feeling that was flowing on him, just a worst gulity feeling. Apparently, he still couldn't escape from this feeling after a long time.
"Ryosuke, can you come to me now? I ask you for a sorry." Yuto spoke up softly, he wanted to get near to his spouse but Kei's hands were still preventing him for doing so. "It's okay, Ryosuke. Please come here."
The grasp of Kouta's shoulders were tightened, "He still doesn't wanna." Kouta commented.
"Mama, Papa has forgiven you. Kyosuke-san also has forgiven you, he ever said to me that he really loves you. Now it's Papa's turn to ask you a forgiveness, then why don't you come?" Kazu said softly, as if he already forgot about the burning pain on his cheek, he stepped closer and tip-toed to hold Ryosuke's hand once again on Kouta's shoulder.
A hard shake of Ryosuke's head, Kazu was a little surpised to see his mother's eyes which were already watery.
"We should bring him back." The pshychiatrist said, a bold one.
"But.." Kazu was still persistent.
"No but, Kazu-chan. We shouldn't force your mother. I'm enough with every demand of yours, Kazu-chan. Just let me play my role for this time."
Kazu's head bowed down, Yuto slowy got off from the bed with Kei who was still accompanying him, reaching Kazu's body and pulled his son to his carriage still with Ryosuke's look and Yuto's were still locking each other. One hand of Yuto reached out for Ryosuke's hand softly, making Ryosuke's gaze jolted in a slight shock but gladly there was no harsh refusal like before. Their hands were still interwined, and it slowly was broken until the pshychiatrist softly pushed Ryosuke's back and guided him to go out from the room.
