(no subject)
I have two very original ornaments now. :D Straight from kindergarten. Samantha brought home a pine cone covered in glitter, and a paper gingerbread house that she colored. They have prominent locations on the tree and will be thus displayed for many years to come. It makes me excited to see Ella's creations next year. So that Ella has some decorations this year we spent the other night making a few paper snowflakes. I'll have to remember to hang them on the glass this afternoon.
Sadly, Janice is in too much pain to come down for Christmas. The girls are really sad about that because they have never had a Christmas without her. But Samantha at least understands that it's better for her to stay home and get better so that we cane have some fun adventures with her over the summer. It's not like we won't see her on Christmas day though. We will still be driving up to visit in the afternoon. She just won't be here to see the Christmas morning magic.
It's too bad though. With Rachal having Gia, and Christopher thankfully out of the picture, we thought we would all be together again for Christmas. Having the new baby would have made this Christmas extra special. So instead, we spend Christmas by ourselves just like Thanksgiving. On the plus side, even though Janice is regretting the surgery now because of the pain and limited mobility, we know she'll feel so much better this summer that it will make up for one holiday lost. :D
We're hoping to do all our Christmas shopping today. Haven't gotten a single thing and I am glad we only buy for a few people. So much to do, so little time.
