OT: blood donor appeal for SW author
Gang, normally I wouldn't advocate OT postings, but this is Star Wars connected and on a serious matter.
A message about author Aaron Allston
In short, Aaron had to have a quadruple bypass yesterday due to having a heart attack. He was on a book tour, promoting the latest SW book. He's written a number of SW books, including the X-Wing series.
I had the opportunity to meet Aaron a number of years ago. I was also a member of Club Jade for a time and chatted with him quite often during CJ chats. I found him a likeable guy and was stunned to learn of his circumstances.
Aaron's family have set up a blood donation sponsorship in Texas. Please see the above link for information on that, and also where you can send well wishes.
