I AM STILL LAUGHING OKAY - LAAAUGHNG at what "rural welsh railway" (TM) train of thought is this entire post :DDD Gotta say, I'm not at all surprsed Burndive ended up being your favourite, hehehe.

Erret Dorr self-appointing himself Baby Az's older brother (and Sid's boyfriend)i just love everything about this sentence (and Dorr!) uwu. re:confirmation that it was him in baby Az flashback - I somehow never even stopped to doubt this conclusion. Like, who else could it possibly be?? All fingers point at Dorr :D ( ... )

Yeah, guilty as charged XD (I actually searched to see how many times I'd used "Cairo" vs actual protagonist names, and the disparity was not as great as I'd expected, but, like, every time I talk about Ryan and Yuri, 90% of thatis IN RELATION to Cairo, so it doesn't absolve me of anything XP)

re:confirmation that it was him in baby Az flashback - I somehow never even stopped to doubt this conclusion. Like, who else could it possibly be??

Yeah, I was so not surprised by the confirmation, but it was nice to have it nevertheless.

I mean, our Most Vapid Bachelor just lives on innuendo and puppy eyes, no?

Puppy eyes, kitten eyes (per Yuri), and even he compares himself to the "fuzzy earth animals with woebegone eyes" XD

I can't not let Evan in ;___; He just weasels himself in, with his pirate-bred survival instincts:

That makes a lot of sense, actually.

Cairo is pushing the 'don't try this on me' line on Yuri, so god knows if he's referrign ( ... )

Now that cyan is finishing up Cagebird too, I'm thinking of Falcone's weird logic again and still don't have answers tbh *scratches head*

three-way not!Russian fistbump totally works, too :D

The Russianness -well, I did wince at mat/otets, and also Mishka gave me cognitive dissonance a bit (but not much - it's really easy to forgive such liberties in the universe where races are all mixed up and a lot of things can be attributed to evolution and muddying of waters). So if I was editing the work, say, I'd have insisted on scrapping the mat/otets maybe, but kept the babushka - though that doesn't sound very fair? *scratches head*

Yeah, I could explain it to myself -- there's definitely a mix of Slavic forms in there, like the Terisov grandfather being named Jerzy, which is Polish of course and not Russian, and Katarina for Mishka's mom -- but "Mishka" was disconcerting, because I kept reading it either as Мишка or мышка, and both were distracting.

I'd have insisted on scrapping the mat/otets maybe, but kept the babushka - though that doesn't sound very fair? Me too, though I'm not sure how to justify it, either. I think part of my problem with the "mat" "otets" is that it's so damn formal -- no four-year-old would think in those terms, and I doubt that a grown-up reflecting back on that age would either. So I think it probably feels off to us precisely because we know those words an connotations, while somebody who doesn't speak Russian may think they're diminutives like Babushka-Dedushka are and ( ... )

It has been so far. :D

I'm just tired of being unable to hold a OB. An actual proper GOOD JOB (which seems scarce these days). I'm sick of looking like a slack-off and a drama queen (which complaining about a workplace, then losing said workplace...always makes me feel that way and I have a feeling this is just another in a long line).

I swear I'm doing something wrong here...ugh.

Sorry. I'll not complain further and depress-down your Happy Place, lovie. Thank you for saying such sweet things! I have a tendency to turn off comments out of guilt for not answering OTHER comments. a bad habit I need to kick...
