Kitty's eye

Well, the eyedrops didn't fix Kitty's cloudy eye, so it looks like her blindness is going to be permanent. She doesn't seem to be letting it bother her and is still as active as usual (possibly even more so than before; she seems to be running REALLY fast in her wheel!), but one thing I've noticed is that she wakes up much earlier than usual. She's been getting up at around 2pm every afternoon and remaining active until midnight or even later sometimes. She's gone from being a nocturnal creature to being a day hamster! It means that we see more of her, which is nice, but it is a little odd. I wonder if it's caused by her poor eyesight? Maybe she doesn't know when it's night time? I really have no idea! Anyway, the vet said that she should be able to manage fine with one eye, and she seems to be doing so. She does has a slightly strange appearance because her right eye is completely transparent, and has a cloudy appearance from a distance. It looks like a little glass bubble up close, which is slightly freaky-looking, as it bulges a bit and looks like it's going to pop out. :(

It just makes her unique, though. ;) She's still my little cutiepie.

Her brother Tom, on the other hand, is still a nocturnal hamster. Though he did pop out for a drink this afternoon and I managed to get this cute shot of him looking rather sleepy...
