Question

My brother just called me because something's happening to his new hamster. He says she has some kind of sticky liquid around her thing and that it stinks like hell. And it wets the bedding a lot. He's not sure if it's pee, but it doesn't look like. Also, she doesn't go out of her house and is not as active as her partner (he has two female syrians in a cage). I thought it might be wet-tail, but she doesn't has diahrrea and is breathing ok. He's also worried that whatever she has might infect the other hamster. I think she doesn't go out of her cage because she's still brand new, but the other hamster is adapting ok. We might probably go to Petco, where we bought her, to see if they can help. And if the worst scenario we might go to the vet, but it might be nothing.

Any ideas what might be? I'm going to investigate through the net, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
