Snickers did it. I even open the door she was standing infront of. she was starring at me. Not moving. I got her a carrot, and she wasn't interested. I even touched her mouth with it and I could move her head with the carrot lol She still didn't budge.
She started to mvoe slowly onto the open door when I moved back. I got her exersize ball, she finally crawled in and I let her run around and she was fine.
I know now she doesn't care much for carrots anymore lol but why she froze I would think is because I scared her.
As for zippies larger area, I would think she's a male. I don't know much about it except it's happened to us a lot where we were told by the people at the pet store it was famle and it turned out to be male. We were wondering why the two hamsters wouldn't breed! They were both male! lmao. Anyhow. You could call, or take Zippy to the pet store and ask. if you really want, go to the vet.
She's porbably going through 'changes' like a teen does during puberty. Who knows :)
People will argue about the whole period thing. I have yet to see it happen to any of my or my sister's hamsters.
I haven't seen a "period" yet with Lovey & she'll be 1 this Aug/Sept. But there also hasn't been any "swelling" in that particular area either. If the area is really starting to swell up down there (male hamsters pretty much drag their "stuff" on the ground behind them) ...Zippy may be getting... uhhhh...nads. *snerk*
