I'm sorry, I know how hard it is when things like this happen and you don't know what to do. My first dwarf, Clarice, bled from her vagina. I took her to the nearest animal hospital, and I was told that it was either an infection or something worse, like some kind of reproductive cancer. Assuming that it was an infection, the vet prescribed an antibiotic for her. For the next two weeks, I got up every morning at 8am and administered this antibiotic to Clarice with a little dropper. Yeah, fun stuff. It seemed to work, but a few weeks later she started to bleed again and passed away. :( So, it could be something minor, but you never know. I think you should get her to a vet, but that's tough if your mom doesn't want you to take her. Maybe you could make an appointment for her rather than taking her in on an emergency visit, if money is the problem? I've heard that it's slightly cheaper if you make an appointment. I brought Clarice in late at night without an appointment and it cost about $55, I believe. Good luck, and I hope your hammy will be okay.

thanks for the advice. I believe she's still bleeding, but her behavior and sleeping patterns have slightly improved. she's still breathing way too heavily and not moving around much, but she's eating lettuce and some fruits and she slept for at least a solid hour. if she's still doing this in the next couple of days, I'll call into a vet to see how much it'd cost. I'm sorry about what happened to your hamster though!

That happened to one of my hamsters years ago. I got antibiotics which helped for a little while but she did eventually pass aways from whatever was wrong. Mine was a syrian though.
