Well, I suppose I'm not a new owner any more. I was given my first hamster, Buttercup, last year. Before her, I had never even considered hamsters. I love all rodents, but had a bad experience with a dwarf as a kid. So, I admit (though it sounds silly) I was a bit nervous around the little critters. Buttercup the Syrian, however, was extremely docile and loved being held. She opened my heart up to hamsters. Sadly, she passed away earlier this month. I miss the girl. She was great. I have grown to love Syrian hamsters and all hamsters. I would like a Robovroski one day, but have not found one that I have connected with. Shortly after Buttercup passed away, my sister offered to get me another hamster. I didn't really want to at the time, but I eventually found Charlie and it was love at first pet. I held him against my chest, he relaxed in my hands, and I knew he was going home with me. Charlie is a long haired baby and taming is going exceptionally well with him. He's already taking food from me and already getting more curious by the day. I decided to join this community because I love hamsters and I love talking about hamsters with other like minded people. So, hi. And behind a cut are some pictures of Buttercup and Charlie.
The one with the pretzel treat (she didn't get those often due to the fact that I don't fancy store bought treats much, but when she did she loved them...) was Buttercup, the long haired little guy is Charlie. :)
