Is it normal for a juvenile syrian hamster to be constantly trying to escape? He managed to get out once via climbing on his water bottle through the top of his 30 gallon tank. Since then, I stuck a cover on it with books to make sure he didn't attempt it again along with removing anything that he could use to climb to the water bottle. I just moved him into a Hagen ZooZone 2 today which provided a lot more floor space and more rooms for his toys and a corner potty with sand so he can dig and what not. He's figured out where the top is and is constantly leaping to try to reach the top. Is there anything to quell his desire for freedom? I don't wanna wake up again and find him missing. x_x I give him run arounds in the bathroom sometimes too when I hamster proof it. I don't put him in a ball because I don't think he enjoys it. Right now, he's gnawing at the water bottle hole on the zoozone. Blargh!
