(no subject)
hi i noticed something odd-looking with harriet and i just need to know if this is normal or not...
when i picked her up i saw this lil lump under her skin near her special area. it seems like its more to the right than the left side even though here it looks like its in the midle. its more pronounced when i pick her up (otherwise i cant really see it lolz) i first noticed it about a week ago.

(hoots doesnt seem to have anything similar at all in her area)
is this what normal hammy insides look like or is this a lump i should be concerned about and get her checked out??
also i noticed this tiny lil scab under her fur. its red with dried blood and a lil scab hanging off. its very, very small - you can see compared to my fingers.
is this a normal hammy injury from scratching herself or do i need to get this looked at too?
i'm worried because i was going to drop my car off at the shop tomorrow for service so i won't have a way to get around for a few days. i need to know if i should cancel that and take her to the vet asap instead.
oh and she is still active: eating and playing (and sleeping a lot which is normal for her) and she hasn't lost any weight.

UPDATE: i took her to the vet this morning and they said it looked and felt like it was just a fatty lump. they said they could test it but it would be about $150 and even if it was something bad there wasnt much they could do for her. since she is still active and happy they said just to keep an eye on it and monitor if it gets bigger.
they also said the lil scratch was nothing to worry about and it wasnt infected.
they were very nice which was a big relief after the bad vet experience i had with mishki. they also said Harriet was very well socialized :)
Harriet did very well and was a brave lil girl. although some dogs came into the waiting room and it scared her to death. her eyes bugged out like ive never seen before and she got totally still and weird. that scared me more than the lump so they moved us into an exam room right away and eventually she calmed down and got back to her usual self. i was really worried she would have a lil hammy stroke or some sort of eye injury from the episode. whew.
anyway we are back home safe and sound now and thank you for your feedback and support! :)
