Quick Question

I've had quite a few hamsters in my lifetime. Only one of them ever bit me, and they all were fine with me picking them up.

Except for one of the ones I have now. He'll take food if I hand it to him, and sometimes he'll let me touch him through the cage bars. However, he usually freaks out if anyone gets close to him.

Any ideas on how to slowly make him more use to contact?

*I'm also not sure it's a him, but the whole not being able to pick him up makes it hard to tell.*
