Hammies!
We have been hamster-less since Matilda left us in April, and hadn't planned on getting another ham, but saw some gorgeous Syrians today in the local pet shop. I was sorely tempted to get one. That particular pet shop uses the same breeder and has done for 36 years, and all of the hamsters have been hand-tamed. They all looked so healthy and were absolutely beautiful - a mixture of males and females (not in together!) and all different colours, from cream to sandy-coloured to chocolate and a black and white mix. Some were long-haired, some were short-haired. The owner let me open up the cages and stroke them all. Gah!
So you may see a post from me in the not-so-distant future announcing a new arrival. :P We've decided we won't get another ham until we've finished renovating our house, so it may not be until the new year, but I'm excited at the prospect. :D I would love a long-haired male Syrian.
