Of course, as soon as I say the boys are getting along, they start fighting.
Here's what happened: I got up this morning and checked on them (like I always do), and they were fine. After I finished getting ready for the day (about 45 minutes later) I was going to refill their food bowls and two of them were fighting. Now, if they play fight, I can usually break them up and they'll go on about their business, but I could tell this was a problem, because they just weren't letting it go. They were even fighting in the tunnels, which is odd for them. I separated the two that were fighting, and noticed that one had an injury around his tail. From the looks of it, his hair got torn out. It was obvious that it had been bleeding, but it looked like it had stopped since he obtained it. When I put him in with the third, who had not been involed in the squabble, he instantly started trying to check the wound out, which was apparently the wrong thing to do because they started fighting as well. (Understandable, you don't want people messing with an injury, do you?)
I was worried about the severity of the fighting, so I put the injured one in a separate cage and left the other two together, since they didn't seem to have a problem with each other.
So now what should I do? I don't want them fighting, and two of them seem to get along just fine, so would it be okay for me to just keep the one separated from the others? I know they're social, but they seemed to have separated on their own before any of this started (two would sleep together while the other would hang out on his own), so he should be okay, right?
As for the injury itself, when I checked him out this morning, it didn't seem to be bothering him. He wasn't licking or biting it, and when he got in his wheel after I separated him, he took off like a bullet, so it doesn't look like it's slowing him down. Should I just keep an eye on him and make sure it doesn't look like it's getting infected, or should I see if I can get him into the vet tomorrow morning?
