Old supplies for new hamster?
I think I might be ready for another hamster...I think. Gertrude and I never really bonded all that well, so I didn't think I would want to get another hamster, but I really miss having a ball of fuzz hanging around the house.
I still have most of Gertrude's old supplies. She was a very healthy hamster until the end. Other than an apparent eye infection, she had never really gotten sick. Nevertheless, I don't want to take any chances. Should I try to bleach her old stuff to use with a new hamster, or buy new stuff? I really only need to replace/clean the bin and the wodent wheel. The bin has crusty stuff in the pee corners that doesn't come out with soap and water and the wheel has some similar whiteish/yellowish stuff in the grooves.
So what do you think? Clean the old, or buy new?
