baby hamster question

A few weeks ago, the pet shop owner at our local shop gave me a pair of dwarf hamsters who she said were "biters" and told me I could have them for free. She was certain they were both female, but later that evening I realized I had a male & female. They have since been separated, and the female had babies about 8 days after the woman gave me the hamsters.

Now, the babies are around 22 days old. I have for the most part sexed them and put the boys in w/ their dad (on neutral territory and stuff)

Anyway, to make a long story short, there is one of the older babies that the mommy hamster still thinks is a "baby"...she hunts her down in the cage, drags her back to the nest, nurses her, etc...this baby is 22 days or so old. I'm guessing it isn't a problem since they're both females, I just found it kinda strange and was wondering if mother hamsters usually do that with their runt babies (this one is like half the size of the others) I've seen a bunch of baby hamsters born and raised in my life, and have never seen the mother keep one in the nest so long. I just wondered if that was normal?

Also...I bought a winter white last week, and it hisses for long periods of time. At first I thought something was wrong with it, and upon further examination have just came to the conclusion that she's vocal..lol. Are they usually that loud? I can tap on her cage and walk out of the room, and she'll be hissing/squeaking 5 minutes later.

Thanks..
