Young and old
Before we got Freddie, I hadn't realised how old Tom was getting. He was just my baby Tom and he looked the same to me as he always had. Now, comparing him to Freddie, I can really see that he's an elderly little man. :( He walks so slowly and can't climb into his wheel very easily anymore. He's also losing fur at the tops of his legs and is generally looking a bit untidy. He still has an appetite and loves his fresh veggies, but he sleeps a lot more than he used to and rarely exercises. He's still my baby, though. :)
Freddie, on the other hand, is so unbelievably furry! I think there's more fur to him than anything else. He's also incredibly fast, can move from one end of his tank to the other in a split second, and loves running in his wheel.
It's strange having a very young hamster and a very old hamster. The only time I've ever had two hamsters at once was when we had Kitty, and she was Tom's twin sister so it wasn't all that strange.
I love my little boys. :D
